Dumblonde, I think you are getting Micheal and Brian mixed up. Brian is the one who said lines 4,3, and 2.Last nights show was great, but there is one thing that is really starting to bother me with Queer as Folk. To me, the Brian character is just not believable. We are supposed to believe this average looking guy gets that much sex? I don't think so. Michael was talking about how every time they go to the bar, all heads turn to check out Brian. I don't see what is so great about him. I certainly wouldn't pick him up. I'd take Michael, Justin, Ted and even the Chiropractor (especially the Chiropractor ) over Brian any day.  [Link] |

Thanks Joe, man I think my brain short-circuits after a certain hour! The lesbians names I still don't know - that blonde one just irritates the shit out of me.You don't go for Brian's type? That Justins turning into quite

Still love the show, but didn't care for the turn it took last night - with Brian getting all moral with the client, going & playing Dad, while Michael was out, sluttin around. That's not going to work.

I have them labeled as Beaver 1 and Beaver 2! hahaha Just kidding....Not sure why but tonights show really irritated me......I know, I know, it's just tv, but it was just sooooo unrealistic tonight! I like dick, I suck dick...yada yada yada.....as if that would happen, among all the other unbelievable scenes....the mother, Brian, etc....and come on Michael!! Shape up and wake up! You dont know how to act on a date??? Is it me??? I still say I bet the UK version was alot better......more down to earth I bet..this just seems like its all shock value now to me.....
Justin is still so frigin cute...and I like Michael when he was in the chiropractors!
p.s. I hadnt seen this before but on Showtimes site there are some video interview clips with Hal Sparks and other cast members...

One of these days, I will have to pick of the British version. Is it available for region 1?I'm not sure if I will like it, though, as those British accents tend to drive me up the wall. On a completely unrelated note, did anyone notice that Queer as Folk and HBO's OZ are now on at the same time? Is it available for region 1?<<<It was saposed to be available after the airing of the Brit series in the U.S.. but I believe the Brit version has come and gone on U.S airwaves (for a lucky few) and still no word on a release for DVD.. oh well. I missed Sunday's episode ....guess all that clubbing, drugging and fucking has eroded my brain.. or maybe it was all that PR showtime shoved up my ass .. I don't even enjoy it that much but I still have watched and taped it religously.. (up until Sunday)

Though it's fun and perhaps all too human to bitch and moan I for one think there's a lot right with "Queer As Folk". I am thrilled to see this sexual representation on American television and praise Showtime. You don't have to go very far back in history to find nothing positve or realistically demonstrative of Gay and Lesbian life. I think an intelligent person, gay or straight, understands that writers have dramatic license and use it but on the whole I find the show balanced if not very entertaining. I have to say that though Justin's declarative line about 'dick' to his mother and therapist may have been over the top it has made my top 10 best lines list with ease. Hi Guys,The Brit version IS FINALLY available on region 1 DVD. My boss at work gave it to me as a Christmas present. I've been out of town since I got it but just started watching last night. So far, I like it much better than the US version, although as American versions go, the US is surprisingly good. I happen to be a big fan of English TV, so my opinion may be skewed. jas, what would you say has been the best line so far? There's always a few from each show. On my list, the one to beat so far is Brian's "I don't believe in love - I believe in fucking" from the first show. I'm really worried that they will try to make Brian less of an asshole, but then, Justin is showing promise in that area, and could possibly give Brian a run for the money. Although Justin is so cute & innocent looking, maybe he will use this to his advantage on unsuspecting prey. I hope Michael will give the chiropractor a second chance to jump his bones, or should I say bone, heh heh[Link] |

This isn't line specific, but my favorite scene to date is the one where they're all at the gym and they're discussing Michael's feeling the need to act straight at work. The best part of that scene for me was Emmet's demonstrating how he could act straight if he wanted, but he preferred to "shine".
Emmet is my favorite character of the bunch and it's great to see the show starting to focus more on him...ie. his internet personna 'coming to life' and his discovery of his own butch self.
I agree about Brian's character being less than beleivable.
Am I alone in thinking that the whole lesbian story line is unnecessary and gratutious? Although maybe I'm being a little hypocrytical, since the show is GRATUTIOUS by nature and that's what I like about it.BTW, I call them fish #1 and Fish #2 Tina Tuna (the world's best tasting tuna) [Link] |
