I have a list about 10 porn stars I absolutely love, and I am always on the look out for new scenes or movies. I'm often disappointed. No names mentioned but most of them haven't done anything in months. Sometimes just two scenes in 12 months. I know they haven't retired because they still tweet most days. And the thing is, they all have big followings. Is it that they don't want to work, or that nobody is hiring them??

My favourite pornstars of the last 12 months have all retired. Veronica Radke, Chrissy Nova(Greene), Heather Night... Huge bummer. I feel like girls get into porn to get known so that they can improve the money they get from webcamming. Sensi Pearl is another girl I liked a lot who retired but is apparently webcamming now. they cant get any work i see extremely hot porn girls practically begging for work this is the state the industrys in, they dont shoot anywhere near as much as they used to most girls can not even make a short career out of it anymore i have seen a lot of incredibly sexy girls shoot for all the main websites and then disappear because there was no more work, in a past era they would have been stars sad but this is the reality nowadays and its only likely to get worse

Best way to help your favorite stars get booked for scenes is to request them on the porn company's Twitter page. Twistys, Brazzers, RealityKings, NaughtyAmerica, MOFOS, and all the other big porn sites have Twitter and they usually reply.
Okay it's bad, then why are they constantly hiring new girls who are useless at sex??? The chicks I like are both hot and extremely good at sex with guys and other chicks. There are far too many inexperienced, boring new girls who shouldn't be in porn. You only have to take one look at them and they fake everything.
Is there really more than maybe 10 performers who started a year ago and who are still shooting? At least on a regular basis. The only one that I can think of is Penny Pax but I'm sure there are a few more. The problem for all the performers is that there are simply too few companies shooting porn and worse most of them shoot only a small quantity of scenes per week. What you basically get is too few jobs for too many women. There was a time when a performer could live quite well on the money they made from porn but is that still true? I'd like to believe it but I don't. I think the vast majority of performers must have other means of income or they can't pay their bills.

well few years ago i made my top 20 list and now well... most of the girls from the list are retired, semi retired or shooting just few scenes per year.... actually only London Keyes and Krissy Lynn left me... i also started like Summer Brielle now but its too early to put her on my top list... actually not sure if i still should watch porn u know.... i started noticed that a lot of porn fans started have that problem, esp these who watching porn for long years.... a lot of starts retiring now and most new girls (at last for me) are nothing special.... porn is gong down.

Some have gone over to web Camming. Some are just horrible at marketing themselves. Some only have one foot in the industry and are not fully committed. Some are not willing to do they types of scenes that are in demand right now. Some have plenty of work, that is being sit on and trickled out by companies.

I'm sure it's just the cynic in me but I don't think tweeting/emailing studios to request your favorite stars is worthwhile. If any major studio happens to read this and would like to counter my stance, please feel free and I'll consider myself corrected. Sorry, JMO.

im pretty sure "Some are just horrible at marketing themselves." it was one of the reasons why Shyla Stylez left the biz. her career started went down after social networks thing started be so important. i mean this industry is now like... if u wont integrate with your fans and posting naked phone pics on twitter few time per day then u not gonna do any big goal in the biz. and she was never in to fans so she had a problem. for me its just bad how it looks right now. for most fans that bs on twitter started be more important than scenes.... when i was starting watch porn 15 years ago pornstars were shooting scenes and went home and fans could went on porn convention few time per year to meet them and it was ok and healthy for both sides. now most the fans want to stalking these girls and except from them to sharing all their privacy on the internet. if an girl wont do this then she is done.
maybe but the fact is that in 2009 she made first twitter... @ShylaXXX she was twitting there only like one time per week and never talk to anyone (these other pornstars twitting few times per day and talk to fans posting pics etc) in 2010 she started twitting little more like one twitt per day but it was even not her. her friend Tia Cyrus was doing her account for her. in 2011 she lost that account cuz she locked herself and forget password and she even could not reset password cuz she forget email too ( i just wonder if she is really that sily or its just another proof that she dont give a fuck) in 2012 she made another twitter account @ShylaStylezKiss she was use it for like maybe 3 weeks and then gone again and never use it again. in this year she made another twitter account (yes another WTF she lost pass again? lol) @MsShylaStylez and if u go there u can see that she was using it for a month and now not twitting anymore for a month lol if these are not issues with promoting herself then i dont know what it is. show my other pornstars that made 3 twitter accounts in 3 years lol. i guess u would eve not find these who made 2 lol Edited by - Song on 12/9/2013 9:15:31 PM

I forgot Presley Dawson. She retired too. WTF man?! Why enter the business if you are going to do b/g for a month or two? Makes no sense.

but Shyla was top pornstar u know these girls that u said are niche girls that not means anything in that biz at all. sorry but top pornstars not act like that. i thought that SS was a pro but maybe its just my mistake and she was not pro.... maybe i just except too much from these pornstars. they are pornstars.... that means that most of them have mental issues etc
OP should be happy most of his favorites aren't done with porn like mine are. So suck it up. ----Dread's Twitter----

Three really good points. Marketing & PR are important, and I'm sure to be succesful you have to do more than use Twitter. Surely, the agent/agency you choose to work for you goes a long way in determining your success. The second point is probably the biggest problem for girls trying to break into the biz-if you come into it only wanting to "dip your toes in the water" rather than "jumping right in," then yeah, you're probably not gonna make it big in the industry. (There's also the possibility that some girls never intend to make it a career and just do it for a quick buck.) And to the third point-yeah, that's probably another problem with new girls, some of 'em might be too picky in regards to who they work with and what they can/can't do. All this brings to mind Bonnie Rotten who, love her or hate her, is a good example of a girl who was fully committed from the start and had a plan for success in the porn biz. She was always willing to do whatever it takes to make it, and now she's killin' it. (I bothered to listen to this interview she did earlier this year, and she talks about her marketing strategy, etc.) Another point I'd make is that some girls probably don't make it because they're full of themselves, they know they're hot as fuck because guys have been telling them so for years and they expect that their looks alone will lead them to great success.
Funny that someone said that Bonnie Rotten was fully committed... Her first scene ever was with Max Hardcore where he pissed all over her and now she become a star so she told him to delete it from his site and blocking on Twitter anyone who ask about it
