Really? That's strange. I thought people would be kissing you and Gary's ass constantly about the movie. Even if they don't get or like the story 5 minutes into the movie you can see the hard work and creativity on the screen. The images, costumes, colors and locations are all visually striking. Everyone looked great in the movie. You had a lot of different interesting looks in the movie and you were very brave to let Gary do so many extreme close-ups of you because some girls would've been too worried about their looks to allow that. But you looked great even when Gary went with purposely harsh lighting. Story-wise it was interesting if not a bit confusing at times. The story hopped around a lot but that probably made in more interesting. It jumped around and moved on to something else before things got a chance to be boring. After listening to some of Gary commentary it's apparant that you two were going for a very complex story where everything had meaning. Sex-wise- Most of the scenes were more senual than the type of typical pounding we see in Gonzo and many features. They weren't the extreme close-ups of genitalia and people pounding away in weird positions for 15-20 minutes. The anal sex scene wasn't sexy and it wasn't meant to be. The scene between you and Tyler was the most erotic in the movie. It was almost 'artsy' but not in an annoying way. That said...You and Gary a great movie filled with sex but probably didn't make a great "porn movie" in the sense of what many people want or go to for their porn. I think a lot of porn fans don't want to do a lot of deep thinking when it comes to their porn. They want simple. They don't want 'sensual' they want the guy pounding away on the girl in different positions, extreme close-ups on penises, vaginas and anuses, loud moans and groans and sex that go on and on. Many people don't want a 'heady' movie with a complex story. They want the big boob secretary getting banged on the desk. The people who like their porn like that probably won't like what your movie does. You're trying to serve up Caviar to a burger crowd. Nothing wrong with burgers or Gonzo but the people who like them usually don't cross over to the other stuff. In the end you and Gary made an impressive movie but I can understand why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. But don't let that stop you from putting your visions on film.
Feh, didn't like the movie. Sorry, but I've been watching porn since the late 70's, and this is okay, but I just couldn't connect with it on a deeper level, although the fucking was good all-in-all... Besides, it's PORN, not Hollywood - I expect there were a lot of people involved, blah blah blah, but I just thought the story could have been less crazy and just focused on more sex, which IS the point of porn. I didn't watch "Deep Throat" for the story, funny as it was, but I have to take major points off because I still don't know whether I should completely believe the whole "rape/slave/porn actress" thing Linda Lovelace was spouting later on in life... Now I thought "Behind The Green Door" was one of the best porn movies ever made, hands down. Marilyn Chambers LOOKED as if she was in total control of the scenes and the movie, even as she was being degraded - but this was HER choice, which made it hotter for me. Now as for "Sanatorium", I thought the whole idea and concept for the porn was just pushing it in my face too much. I'd elaborate more, but I'm short on time here and can't get on this website as much as I like, maybe later. As this thread is simply an announcement about IR and Tabitha "doing it," well I think this thread has strayed too far off the beaten path. I also kinda expected Tabitha to respond to me after all my statements because I think she is an intelligent person who can politely debate her decisions. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows... I guess I'm glad she "did IR," because in the porn business people make up their minds to do things off their own beaten paths at their own times for whatever reasons, and most of the time it's influenced by $$$. I have no problem with that. As I said before, though, it's not a porn playground, it's a BUSINESS. Enjoy.
Gary and Tabitha, I really liked Sanatorium, I got it on blu ray, and the quality was excellent, and what I liked about it was that the story hung together till the end. So many features start off excellent and then they lose their way halfway through and forget the story, but that didn't happen with Sanatorium, the story was there till the end. I thought the film was in many ways more similar to the classics, which I love. I think when people make a high quality film, like this one, they should be commended.
^I'm curious to see how much recognition this movie gets at awards time. Because of the economy there hasn't been that many big budget porn movies lately so you would think it would be a no-brainer shoe-in but I have a feeling it's going to be the parody movies that get the most attention.

Thank You Dover1. So happy that you enjoyed the film!!!! Seriously, if anyone didn't like the film~ that's cool. Gary and I are 'film makers' wether it be porn or mainstream film. Our films have a story line and sex. Hey, it's not for everyone. I can live with that. We will continue to make porn films with a story line and some people will want to buy it while others would rather watch internet crappy porn. Whatever floats your boat. Yes, this thread TOTALLY strayed away from it's original topic. That's what happens on every forum it's seems wether you are talking porn or even plumbing materials. What can you do??? Draxxx, I believe that we have been put in for quite a few awards at AVN this year for 'Sanatorium'. I do doubt that we will receive any awards for the film (we were given 4.5 stars out of 5 so the chances are slim to none), but being nominated is just as nice. We don't really need an award to show us of our accomplishments on this film. It did Very Well sales wise ~ still selling :-). That's what's really matters at the end of the day. Gary's filmmaking is beyond AMAZING and there is no one in this industry who can shoot the way he does. I'm not trying to be ignorant or arrogant~ it's simply the truth. Gary pulled, what I feel is my best performance EVER! Yes, this is porn but we want to push it to the next level. We have a script that was written two years ago and we will begin filming this show in May 2011. This will be my last film (as talent, I will be producing and directing with the guidance of Gary).
