I have windows XP, and I really only need that and firefox, which I can access without the icons, but I'd like them back. Microsoft Help Center page said to go to some page and click desktop, but there was no thing for desktop. I tried another thing for Display, which let me do a screen saver, but nothing to retrieve icons.  Shrug.[Link] |

Click start, click all programs, right-click any program icon that you want, and click "create shortcut". Then cut the new shortcut and paste it on your desktop. [Link] |
