It can be good or bad.
But what certainly doesn't work these days is taking it one step at a time in order to milk the audience that keeps waiting for more.
Example, Eva Angelina is still hot and ever so desirable a screen presence worthy of film.
But what made her was her energy to push boundaries and be nasty as fuck while passionate and willing to do fuck all and be damned with it.
When you take that away from her, you may profit in the short run but in the long run her value will fade.
All her come back scenes have been like Rambo coming back as a U.N peace negotiator. Over time, people will begin to lose interest and by the time you try to reintroduce who she once was, folks have just lost interest particularly the ones that never knew her.
But you folks know better...
