This harks back to the thread that discussed, or asked the question, what's more important, the studio, the director, the star.

If I recall correctly, a concensus generally boiled down studio, director, and then the star. A good studio, and a good director, can make a performer look pretty good. But if you have a hot performer (in your opinion) but don't like the directing style, or what the studio does with the presentations, then for all intents and purposes it sucks (in your opinion).

The plan you have outlined sounds like it would avoid a lot of the frustration of trying to pick up you favorite star, and then be frustrated because of the directing style, the theme as it's presented, and what the studio did.

And as you say, it can be an aid to your budget and time.

I can usually count on him to bring out the best in many performers. Just like I can count on many Evil Angel DVDs to be tops. Many already know that Evil Angel is a studio that delivers the goods.

Now I have probably seen 2 Nacho directed movies, maybe 3, while they were good, they weren't always my cup of coffee I have had one of the Killer Pussy's (#7) for over a year, haven't brought myself to review it yet, though I have scanned it. I think I may have only seen one under Ribas' direction.

I also haven't seen much of David Luger's direction, so I can't comment too much on him.

I do know that watching Julianna Sterling in Rookie Cookies 4 , directed by Luger, didn't seem lifeless, but seeing her in a Wax Lardcore film, totally destroyed her for me.

I will not think about what Wax did to Taylor Rain, because if I dwell on it, she'll be destroyed for me as well.

I usually don't follow girls, mainly because of Joey, who rarely films the same girl twice. So, I've grown to expect at least one good performance from a new girl with him, and might be surprised with another good performance from the same girl in another film.

There are several girls who I've seen once, but haven't seen since because I rarely buy from any other studio than the big 5.

So the director is key... if I see Joey Silvera in the title, I can be guaranteed one good scene, at minimum. Same goes for Jules Jordan, Mike John, Tom Byron [who recently broke off from Extreme, or so I read], and oh so many others out there.

I have found over time that there is the greatest chance of dissapointment if you buy based on the cast. Personally I think that the director is the best indicator of the type of product you are buying.
