Using this name instead of saying a couple of sentences to describe it was a lot easier and more efficient, and that's why many people started saying ass-to-mouth or even a shorter version of it, ATM or A2M. Popular sex-acts usually get names of their own. But if it's some sex-act that people don't talk much about, then most likely it won't have any name. You need to use a sentence or two to describe it every time you want to say something about it.
