I had a thought the other day that porn is a little tamer recently compared to some scenes from 3-4 years ago when really nasty stuff came out on a regular basis. I initially thought that there's some kind of self censorship currently taking place in the industry.
However after closer examination and in particular after seeing a few Annette Schwarz scenes, I came to the conclusion that nastiness in porn is much more driven by the prevailing talent. 3-4 years ago you had, Hillary Scott, Kelly Wells, Melissa Lauren Genesis Skye,Tiffany Holliday and the list goes on and on.
These days you can count the really nasty pornstars on one hand. What happened?

Sounds to me like economics. I would think that pornstars demand more money for nastier stuff. Unfortunately, a majority of the viewers probably don't like it, so not everyone will buy the movies, thus making it harder to turn a profit. It sucks for someone like me, because there is nothing I love seeing more than a hot girl squeeze cum out of her ass into another hot girl's mouth--well, maybe a milk enema to another girl's mouth. I would actually pay more per movie to see this stuff.

This is a good topic, but I do feel that it has been like this since the mid 90's. Stars like Debi Diamond, Carressa Savage and Alicia Rio could always be counted on to give the goods when there films where released no matter the venue. The one thing I don't like about porn now a days is that you don't see as many superstars in my opinion pairing up for a release. It is all about me, myself and I now-a-days. I can't argue that some new companies and stars have redifined "nastiness" in the biz like Belladonna, Evil Angel, Robert Hill Prod. etc,etc. Gonzo seems to be growing faster and faster, that is what is making it seem like there is a big change in the direction in porn. Either that or pervs like me are justing getting more perverted by the year, so the companies are adjusting to our wants and wishes, eh.

i have been wondering that as well. i wish, from a performer view, i had an answer for you. 3 years ago i was coming home from scenes and going straight to bed, now not so much!

I'd also thought that economics may have an impact. I wonder really if current tamer movies generate more profit that the nastier ones from 3 years ago.
