I thought I had a blocker but recently have been really annoyed by all the damn pop-ups. I do have the one that comes with Windows but that evidently is not enough.
Can yall help me out with a good recommendation?

The one in Firefox works fairly well, but a lot of new "pop unders" and other crap are controlled by . One good tool for controlling that is called "no script". It's a firefox add on that disables , but let's you selectively allow it for trusted sites. ...and turn it on temporarily for a new site or sites. Honestly, it's a bit more work, but it will keep your computer more safe and prevent tons of pop ups and pop unders.

I use Firefox/noscript and it indeed does work. But "it's a bit more work" is an understatement. NoScript blocks a LOT of things other than popups/popunders. So, if you use NoScript be prepared for the flood of blocked item messages you will get until you set the parameters for that sites you visit. Once NoScript is configured for the sites you visit its fine, but it ain't "plug and play" by a long shot.
Also be prepared for daily/weekly updates to NoScript as the developers add blocks for newly found web annoyances.
