My fiance and I were wanting to watch some porn movies together to "spice things up" in the bedroom. Unfortunately, she HATES seeing close-ups and doesn't want to see penetration at all. I have seen a couple of movies a long time ago from the 90's that were basically regular porn, but no penetration shots. We also don't like to watch older porns and would love to see a newer one with all of these things. Does anyone have any ideas for us? So basically a hard core porn scenes going on but shot like a soft core. Thanks!

Just visit a random online adult dvd store, and look under softcore. I am sure you'll find lots of pornos cut to fit R rating. Personally, I don't like those kind of movies. In my opinion, if you don't wanna see penetration, what does it matter if it's hardcore. Better to see actual softcore then..with softcore talent who can act a little. The first film to receive an NC-17 rating was Henry and June (1990) but it's not wall-to-wall explicit. Neither is the NC-17 version of Eyes Wide Shut. (2000) I've seen some recent French films, Romance (1999) and Exterminating Angels (2006) that have some explicit material plus I think the new Ang Lee movie carries the NC-17 rating. (the name escapes me, I haven't seen it) Otherwise, you might be stuck with those "cable" versions of recent Vivid titles. Good luck---T0M

The Ang Lee movie is "Lust, Caution" and while it is mildly explicit it is a long and involved movie. Not great for spicing things up.
My wife is the same way about porn and she enjoyed the R-rated version of Pirates which is fairly easily available to rent (we rented through Blockbuster).
I also recommend the Showtime series of "Red Shoe Diaries" but sadly I think it is still in limbo for a DVD release, you'll have to go to VHS but I found it to be the most consistently erotic without getting too cheesy.

The now apparently defunct division of Media Blasters called Raincoat Theater released a series of excellent classic adult films and all of the titles contained a second disc which was a cable cut of the film, which should fit your needs as they are hardcore films but the second disc is only softcore. The titles they released are Babylon Pink, Debbie Does Dallas, The Devil in Miss Jones, Insatiable and Neon Nights. If picking one up make sure you get the right release as Debbie Does Dallas, The Devil in Miss Jones and Insatiable all have multiple releases. If renting you want disc 2 of all these releases for this version.
Edited to add links to the correct versions. Many places list the distributor as VCX but still be careful. You want the ones called the Collector's Edition with the cover I linked to as VCX has multiple releases of Debbie Does Dallas and The Devil in Miss Jones.

I have the VHS tape of that version, but it appears to be out of print and no DVD conversion.
