I just looked at my queue and saw a little "Rapid Return" logo next to the movies I have out. Also noticed that under the usual "How Your Queue Works" and "Movie Availability" links, there's a new one for Rapid Return:So, it's a feature where if I notify them that I just mailed my discs for return, they'll ship the next ones in my queue two days later, regardless of whether they got them yet or not. That is, honestly, really, really cool. Can't click on the Rapid Return icons at the moment (probably because I already have more than my max out since I received a bad disc), but can't wait to try it out. And kudos to BushDVD to once again raising the bar.
For those of us in CA it's still not as good as them "shipping as soon as they receive our movies" since it should only take 1 business day to get to them. However, as of late they have been taking 2-4 days to "receive" movies after I have shipped them out, so at least now the 2 days will serve as a minimum.
For Bush users on the east coast, you have really come out ahead with this feature.
I'm really hoping this help on the East coast. For example, I sent dvds back on Saturday, and they still haven't recieved them. Now, my next flicks will go out no matter what 2 days later. I guess there's also and honesty issue here also...
Looks great. I hope the majority of their customers stay honest with it and Bush can keep the service. Though I guess if someone tries to game the system, they still have to start returning stuff to keep the queue moving. I'm especially happy with this because my return times have been so variable, from 2 days to almost 2 weeks (but usually around 3-5 days).
It looks like a great feature! Last night I was looking at my queue and saw a thing that said Rapid Return, and clicked it to find out what it was. Well, it said that I had returned that item, which I haven't even received yet. So I fucked it up. I should have read what Rapid Return was, instead of hitting the link, thinking that would tell me.
I think they must be having some growing pains with this feature. I got emails today telling me that they had sent six movies (my plan maximum), but I had never clicked any Rapid Return buttons -- in fact, I hadn't been on the site in several days.
I emailed them to let them know this, and I just checked my queue -- the movies they emailed me to say they had sent are back in my queue. So I guess those shipment emails go out before the movies are actually shipped.
Now I see that of the last two movies I sent back, only one of them registers as returned in my queue, and the queue indicates that one movie has been sent to replace it. This is impossible, of course, in their two-by-two process.
It's total mayhem. And I guess those email alerts are a less than accurate portrayal of what's been shipped when.
The rentals shipped e-mails are accurate. They are sent out as units are assigned to each customer. We did have a small glitch (which the incorrect e-mails were part of) yesterday that has been fixed.
Like ObiBong, I also received a bunch of emails the other day for no apparent reason. This was an error but I've had no problem otherwise.
This is indeed an excellent feature though, especially for those who live a bit further away. Bush continues to be an excellent provider which is always looking for ways to better it's service. Kudos to BushDVD indeed.
It makes no difference what your geographical locale is! If Rapid Return falls on the same day as Rentals Received (which it continually does), Same-Day Shipping is negated. Thus having to wait an extra two-days for the next queue. Rapid Return is nothing more than a canard. BUSH has to do away with this flawed system, and stick to their protocol of same-day shipping. Otherwise, customers are being deprived of more films. Also, shipping takes 4-5 days to reach the East Coast, yet 2-3 days to return to the West Coast. The process in which they ship also appears to be flawed.

An employee of BUSH no doubt? Did you not read what I wrote? It makes no difference if you live in Timbuk 2, or around the corner from BUSH. As long as Rapid Return continues to coincide with Rentals Received, Same-Day shipping is negated. IOW, BUSH is making members wait an extra 2 days to receive rentals when it should have been sent on the very day. If not for Rapid Return, this would never happen. It's a flawed system that needs to be removed. BUSH refuses to do anything about this ongoing conflict. Waiting an extra 2-days on top of 4-5 days for the average rental to arrive is not quicker in my dictionary. Edited by - BigShmeckle on 10/9/2015 4:16:09 PM
Not until they remove the canard that is Rapid Return. BUSH intentionally created a flawed system to deprive members of more rentals per month and/or allow rentals to become available due to a limited number of copies per title. When Rapid Return falls on the same day as Rentals Received, their "Same-Day Shipping" policy is negated. Thus making members wait a needless, extra 2-days to ship their next available Queue. It makes no difference if one lives around the corner from BUSH, or in Timbuk 2. There was absolutely no reason to create Rapid Return when BUSH already had a Same-Day Shipping policy in-place. BUSH is earning 6-figures per year, yet they somehow feel the need to limit the number of rentals when hundreds upon hundreds of members are paying a whopping $15.95 or more per month? What part of "Unlimited Rentals" does BUSH not understand? Can you imagine if Netflix tampered with member accounts, simply because they felt members were receiving too many films for their money? LOL! What kind of business ethic is this? BUSH has also on one occasion (that I am aware of) manually prevented (or "throttled" as one other board member put it) rentals from being shipped when there was no conflict present. This occurred because they also believe that if rentals are returned too quickly and/or in transit/replacement rental, that somewhat equates to having more than your alloted plan. Perhaps when someone reports them to The Better Business Bureau, BUSH will finally wake up. As it stands, they obviously take their customers for chumps. Their FAQ Shipping Policy clearly states: "Same-Day Shipping." How so when they created a conflict that continually negates their own policy? If they did away with Rapid Return, there would be no possible way to finagle member accounts, and hide behind Rapid Return. It gives them the ability to manually (and/or by chance) prevent Same-Day Shipping from occurring. That my friend is unacceptable!
