I think it's just about ready but wanted to get some input before we ditch the existing page.
BTW, the data in each tab is populated from the info users select in their profiles. So if you're not listed on the appropriate page just correct it in your profile.
I think it is the best ever because I have now popped up the the ever elusive members page 1 (if sorted by post count) a level long thought to be unobtainable.
I did originally have it coded to include the most recent post but it's a lot of extra overhead. (there's two additional sub queries for each name on the list.) I might be able to come up with a better stored procedure to generate the results set in the future but for at least the next few weeks we won't be able to show the last post date.
Other includes all of the other available fields selectable in a user's profile. (like fan, photographer, editor, other1, other 2, etc.) Other is everything else that's not part of one of the other tabs.
I never really understood what good a members list was in the first place, but if you're going to 'fix' it maybe it should include a search function so you can find somebody without wandering through every page.
I was filtering based on the public/private status of a user's profile. That's been changed.

The last column of numbers under the Jump to Page part are way outside the black border of the page on my monitor. The next to last column either straddles the black border or has the border run through one of the numbers too.
I'm surprised how many never posted. I attribute it to the old registration process. Many people that signed up with Hotmail or Yahoo email addresses never received their passwords in the old system since there was no confirmation process.
I added the last-posted on column and set the page live on the site. It's a little slow with the last post date column but the database load isn't too crazy so we'll run with it for now.
the Jump to Page doesn't seem useful (to me anyway) if you're looking for a particular name. May I suggest a similar series of links that are Alphabetical? If you wanted to find Pagoda, you'd click on P first and then go from there.
Otherwise (let's say Pagoda has a mid-range post count) you have to sort alphabetically, then guess at a page number to start, then start scrolling from there.

We have preloaded some of the data but choosing categories is primarily up to members. You set your categories by editing your profile. Click the Profile link at the top of the page. It's pretty self-explanatory.
Forum Abuse is the member name of a regular (non-admin, non-moderator) account that I use for testing purposes. It's the account I use when testing mechanisms designed to prevent abusive users.
I was logged in as Forum Abuse when I was testing the private profile request/approval stuff. You account was the only one at the time that was marked private. I think I made the access request prior to launching the new profile system when it was just a link in a forum post somewhere.
