Have you heard the news ? The bizarrovideo website is now selling 35 mm transfers on dvds of many classics (mainly roughies)

Among them, there's an edition of Behind The Green Door "in a deluxe special edition, direct from the 35mm transfer film. 100% Uncut."

It's hard to believe that the "35mm transfer / 100% uncut" thing could be a false advertising, but...

Even though it does seems too good of an offer to be true, we have already filed against them.

Their version being 100% uncut doesn't mean that the official Mitchell Brothers release of Behind the Green Door is cut.

Some of those screen grabs look gorgeous...but I'm wary because they use screen shots from one film (THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, for example) and apply them to multiple flicks in that roughies section. I don't think I've seen A DIRTY WESTERN look better than it does in those shots on the website. Makes you wonder if they're legitimate samples of what the transfers look like...

Good for you, TVX; I'm tired of bootleggers continuing to put out inferior product with no repercussions. There's another bootleger on MySpace with plans to release Special Edition DVD's of XXX classics, almost all of which are owned by major companies.

That's the point. Maybe they're selling a bootleg of the Mitchell dvd.

Has anyone here actually used Bizzarovideo? I've never even heard of them before.

Bizarrevideo.com is actually owned by Direct Strategies, out of Phoenix, AZ. We don't have any other info then what is listed on the website.

Well, whatever the legalities of these disks, I'll be very interested to hear whether or not the claims as to their origins are true. If the company really have sourced these from 35mm prints (as oppossed to video masters) I sincerley hope they can be utilised for more readily available editions.
