^ When I lived in Tokyo (Ok so it's Japan, not China) I saw a few misspelled or mistranslated English tattoos on people. It definitely made me laugh, and definitely made me think of all the people over here who have fucked up Japanese or Chinese tattoos.
That is quite funny. Makes me feel good to know that we aren't the only ones doing this. There are a bunch of sites on tattoo fails so I've seen plenty of North Americans screw up their own language by not verifying the proper spelling of the words they chose to get tattooed on their body. You would think that someone who's about to get such a permanent thing would make sure that he has the proper spelling.

Also the obsession with getting chinese pictograms tattoed is the fact that they are a hidden message for one, and secondly that they are much more beautiful than an english word.(what i mean is that it takes skill to be able to draw them, it's language through art)

I totally understood your point being made, my argument is that you can't confirm that her pictograms are wrong. I would give her the benefit of the doubt. My second point was that chinese writing is an art form, unlike english, and tattoos are a work of art. Therefore you see these works of art on many different cultures of people.
