As a performer I really feel the condom law needs to be upheld for OUR safety, and directors need to step back and stop blaming "sales will diminish". A mandatory condom mandate would actually help save the industry at this point. Each time there's a health scare in the biz they end up losing more and more people who don't ever come back, keeps ex-pornstars who might've come back from coming back, and keeps potenial new girls from entering the porn biz. At some point the talent pool is going to be substandard and small if things keep going the way they are. A condom mandate would probably keep the current girls around longer and make some girls feel it's safe to come back. Yeah, I know most viewers would rather no have condoms in the porn they watch but I get the feeling if everyone started using them and the alternative is they don't get to see their fav stars they'll put up with it and over time get used to it and it'll become the norm and won't think about it. The people who claim they'll stop watching more than likely won't if they don't have alternatives.
But why are you waiting on a law if this seems so important for you? You control your own body and the decisions on what type of scenes you will shoot. If you really think it is a legitimate risk, it sounds just crazy to me that you would still be performing. There are always other ways to make money. From the sound of it you need to make the decision and not wait to see how the laws play out. The law only affects LA county anyway for now, while San Fernando is the porn capital. If it is important to a director, they will have no problem scheduling shoots within a half hour drive to a location outside the county.

I know this as a fact due to a few friend who work on the production end for companies who are in fact moving out of la county every Damn shoot.

I'm 100% in favor of the moderators on this forum stepping in to keep fans (and trolls) from abusing the performers or other forum members, but it ought to work the other way, as well. No one, including performers, should be allowed to be abusive. I understand that, in the interest of continuing to encourage performer participation, the moderators might need to take a more tactful approach when a performer is the one being abusive, as in this case. Maybe sending a private message or something along those lines. But however it's done, it should be done. It's either okay for people to be abusive on this forum, or it's not okay. It needs to be a universal rule.

The problem with this line of thinking is that there will always be an alternative. From just going and watching older scenes, to watching porn made somewhere other than the USA (I seriously doubt the entirety of the world will adopt mandatory condom laws), to homemade porn shot without condoms (because you really can't regulate how people have sex in their own bedrooms), porn without condoms will always exist. Hell, even with the law that WAS in place (and the courts have now taken all the teeth out of), there was nothing stopping two performers from shooting a scene with each other without a condom, not paying each other (i.e. a content trade), and putting it up on their respective websites. And the state of California took one look at the amount of money needed to make the condom law statewide (I think it was quoted at somewhere around half a million dollars a year for enforcement) and that pretty much ended that discussion. They need to get their budget in order before they start talking about that again. Truthfully, I'm all for giving performers a legitimate choice in whether or not they can use condoms in a scene (instead of the pretending that they tend to do now), but as far as I see it, the only way that's going to happen is if people start new condom-only (or true condom-optional) companies and they actually succeed. Most currently running companies aren't going to change their ways unless they are dragged kicking and screaming, especially the bigger ones.

I do not see her post as abusive. She is objecting to people who have little to no connections to the industry trying to decide how to live her life and judging on what she has decided to do with her body. That's her business and no one elses. You are, of course, entitled to your own opinions. Perhaps it was a bit hostile, but I am pretty sure you would object to someone trying to dictate how to live your life.
I did find her response as rude, but I could really care less that's why I didn't provoke a conflict. I'm not a keyboard gangster. Somebody will have to start writing me checks to fight with people I don't care about on the internet. If I did have a problem with her post, it would be that I wasn't even doing what she was accusing me of doing. I don't see anywhere in my post where I'm telling her what she should and shouldn't do with her body, or how she should view this issue. All I was trying to do was understand why she wasn't following her own seemingly well thought out stance on the issue and performs anyway in what she considers an unsafe workplace. This isn't like some random person complaining about laws or taxes or the economy but having no real control over the situation, so they just vent on the matter on the internet. If I was giving any advice in either post it was to follow her own advice. Both posts reiterate her own point of the industry being unsafe, and also her point that her health is most important to her. I was asking why she isn't following her own advice and setting a limit for herself regardless of what laws there is or isn't... or what directors or fan preferences are. Well, every job has its risks. And how the future of porn will look like? So, male performer wears a condom during the act. Next, someone could pass the 'both condoms law' and both guy and female performer will have to wear condom. You just put enough lube and the actors can have 'double safe sex'. I completely agree with you. Now, maybe we're both wrong ;) But to be fair, it wasn't just Mackenzee's fault. We have fans here who are the definition of fanboys. It's going to take both the companies and performers coming together to make the condom policy work.
