We are an established wholesale distributer of adult entertainment based in The Netherlands. We are about to set up an online retail store delivering direct to the UK, posted from within UK (royal mail).

We know that one of the first priorites must be to get our delivery service right. We have no intention of gaining the reputation of some of our competitors!

But what do you want? What do you think of movies in German/Dutch languages? Must our catalogue be as extensive as the established stores? (we were thinking of starting with about 500-600 titles) Are the American mainstream (Anabolic, Diabolic etc) studios important? Should we have a tiered delivery service, 1st class, special delivery, courier? Anything else you think is important.

It's always great to read that adult dvd titles are becoming more readily available in the UK, especially through retailers who dispatch within the UK.
However, with the ease of ordering online, and the discreet packaging of adult titles to avoid being picked up by customs, most people I know, and myself included have no problem in shopping from non-UK based stores.
The Number ONE reason to change would be if films were priced at reasonable levels in order to compete with the US based stores. Currently, most online sites dispatching from within the UK offer a pretty poor range of titles and charge extremely high prices. Why pay so much more for so little choice when so many quality dvd's at great prices are available elsewhere.
If you get the pricing right - that would make people a lot more interested in my opinion.

It's very nice to see more choice for stores becoming available. Whether I, and others I suppose, would shop with you will depend on what we see.

I, personally, would like to see:


  • DECENT PRICES - not necessarily the lowest possible, but at least as reasonable and competitive as most other online retailers,

  • CHOICE - at least as good as some of the U.S. stores i.e. as many as possible,

  • A DIFFERENT SELECTION - since you are NOT an American store, stock more varied titles, like the European and British selections that are available. Since most of the American stufff is freely available from the stores across the globe, other styles, especially those that America can't or won't stock (and I don't really mean for censorship reasons, although to many people that's what is wanted/preferred over here), but stuff like the Collector X titles, which include Traci Lords DVDs and other 70's/80's titles which are available hre in Europe, other Ben Dover titles that are not available in the States. Other stuff like Magma, Moli, Harry S. Morgan, etc., and if she ever gets around to it, Sarah Young DVDs.

  • CHEAP SHIPPING - the lower the cost, the better. A variety of options would be good.

  • PACKAGING - as has been stated by others outside the delivery state for any package, this may be important. Customs issues for some locations, ensuring that the disks are in pristine condition to others e.g. not "loose" in the packet OR broken cases, etc.

  • RELIABILITY - quality stock ie.e no discs that are "bad".

  • SECURITY

  • GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE

If you see from the EroDVD/EroVideo stores, they have a good selection and a good range of prices. If you can match them for costs and shipping and provide as good or a better selection, I would be very interested in shopping at your store.

Also, if you can provide better prices on some studios titles, than others, I would be very interested e.g. PRIVATE, EVIL ANGEL, VCA, etc.


I may be overstating my points above and expecting too much, but that's my opinion. Thank you for considering my response

Yes cykedout has pretty much got it covered.

I generally think its a case of common sense.
The bottom line is, to provide a range of alternative products from what is currently, readily available.
Because DVD Advantage and Adultdvdnow have got that sewn up.

Thereafter if you can supply British and European products at similar prices, I am sure it would prove very popular.
Especially with the Americans as it seems thats what they
are all looking for.

I would like to see alot of British titles, you cant find many of them at other etailers. Price will also be a big factor as will shipping costs.
I would also like to see other european films as we can get US films from the US at cheap prices now.
