What do you think?

I feel like we are actually in a porn drought. So many people dedicate so much more time to OF that mainstream scenes are not of the quality they could be. I wish we could fins a way to give performers more of a say on their scenes and help bridge the gap between the two.

We don't see careers anymore that build. There's a lot of mediocre gonzo scenes out there. There's too many brazzers ad scenes out there, that are garbage and wasting the talent of a lot of great performers.

We need more good porn with a plot and if not parody porn then do the porn version of whatever. So maybe you don't do a direct parody of I dream of Jeanie, but have something fun with a genie in a similar costume. Porn should be fun, did everyone forget that?

I think there's a porn decline!! So many female performers do more time on their OF instead of mainstream porn plus it depends on the company who wants to shot the girls. I miss the big showcase to feature a new star from a mainstream company.

I actually think the problem is that the total mainstreaming of porn in general has lead to a decline in porn quality.

No one is afraid to admit they watch porn, pornstars are cavorting openly with rappers, sports figures, more and more pornstars are on tv shows etc. and apart from some people on the fringes, no one really judges people for watching porn. Its clandestine nature is no longer in existence.

This mainstreaming has lead pornstar into being (or wanting to be) stars more than into porn. Now porn is a vessel to achieve stardom and it's no longer seen as something that's a medium to long term endeavour, it's only a short-term affair used as a springboard to stardom.

Porn has always been somewhat performative with the fake moaning etc. but right now the performative aspect is a veritable plague and that leads to bland porn because most girls are simply going through enough of the motions to rapidly get an OF base.

The last 5 years or so has provided something worse than awful porn, it's provided us with bland porn.

There are a lot of performers past, present and future don't do mainstream porn just onlyfans since the pandemic was excuse for performers move away from studio to online platform like onlyfans and loyal fans. Onlyfans is a major ripoff period!! Most of the girls who are content creators aren't adult films stars on onlyfans because content creators don't want transition to adult films.

I think it's a simple situation where OF just pays a lot more than being a standard performer.. Some of the money the OF sites make is crazy.

You also have to look at the studio porn industry where assault allegations are rife, disease control can be slow and there is a push for more extreme sex acts. On OnlyFans and similar sites, performers have greater control over who they perform with in a safe environment. Some performers can also add income streams by cross promoting toys and clothing. I think the next couple of years will be interesting to see whether porn studios try to muscle in on OnlyFans or whether it will be a viable alternative to studio porn.

-i see, from 2010 to covid appear nearly 2019 these 10 years were the peak of porn , we saw every thing we dream high quality scenes ,high fantasy, crazy storylines and talented performers it was perfect level we reached

- the most important point there were limited number of studios we can cover and follow this made stars give everything they had, Naturally because they have the passion ,power and big desire because of the reasonable number of scenes they shot monthly for example

-now many and many studios and only fans and other platforms
if we said in the last 10 years you find 500 scenes in industry monthly you give the high mark to 400 scenes of them
now you find may be 1000 scenes in industry and hardly, you only give the high mark to 50 of them
this became the real

Spot on. In the Woody Allen movie "Manhattan" his character is a writer for an SNL type of show. He hates what he is forced to write. The show's producer argues with him that it's insightful comedy. The Woody character says, "It's worse than not insightful, it's not funny". That's porn today, as bumblaster said, it's bland.

I'll also add that the length of the scenes is becoming an issue. Scenes regularly now go 45 to 90 minutes; with 20 to 30 minutes of set-up. This is way too long IMHO. I don't mind a bit of tease, but once you've passed the 5-minute tease, I'm bored.

Give me a decent, short, set-up, and then get to the sex. I think 30 minutes is a good total length but I know that YMMV.

Studio porn is fading away for the reasons mentioned in this thread. It's not a waterfall, just a slow drip, drip, drip. This site gives evidence of it everyday. Less new scenes & new talent worth talking about around here.

I also think they don't develop new talent and that's a real industry problem. Sports have the minor leagues. Actors have short films and theater. There needs to be more done to help develop stars with style, attitude, and individuality.

I also agree with the swan song of Studio Porn. In the last 12 months, I've found maybe a handful of scenes to be interesting. And by that I really mean 3,4,5 scenes. On the one hand, I lack the finger on the pulse as far as girls are concerned. I have no idea who was "hot" at the time or in the last 5 years. Here today, gone tomorrow. Foot in the wets to test the water and then back behind the OF curtain. At least that is my impression.

On the other hand, I'm completely sick of the same old male faces. Studios that were the benchmark 10 years ago and where I haven't looked in years to see what's new. Because it's just the same old guy putting himself in every scene. I think there is a lack of diversity as far as the girls are concerned and a lack of freshness and quality as far as the boys are concerned. Neither can be fixed anymore, because self-promotion platforms seem to be too lucrative. At the same time, the AI market will also demand its piece of the pie in the next few years.

I totally agree with BuckNaked.

There's no need to stretch out scenes for so long.

Especially when you consider that so many scenes are subpar.

If I'm to be truly honest with myself, I rarely watch porn for the scenes anymore (I use to before), I watch because there is an attractive girl getting naked.

I don't know if that nuance makes sense to anyone.

There is not much as far as good sex these days, at least not when it comes to GG content.

I got into GG in the last few years and it's definitely where I've seen a lot of performative and bland porn but new starlets.

There are exceptions but a lot of scenes are a chore.

OF is not a pure porn platform in that sense, it's more of a milking machine. Studio Porn sells sex as fantasy. OF sells the fantasy of a connection between girl and customer.

Yup. GG these days is, at most, two attractive girls who lick pussy. The studios expect you to be grateful that they got those two "stars" together.

There's no passion, no chemistry, and no attempt to make a great scene. Of course, the same could be said about B/G porn these days also.

I'm going to go outside now and yell at some clouds.

This!
So much this!

I wish performers understood, I don't want a fake, mediated connection with you or your assistant answering DMs, sending the same pics to every guy.
I would rather watch you perform in quality scenes with production values where you create a fun fantasy for people to enjoy.
I don't want to pay 16 bucks to watch you fuck someone on an iphone from one angle in your guest bedroom. I wish we could find a middle ground.

It will never be like it was when it comes to studios. But studios can come back a little bit by:

1. Not being rapers, creepers, and liars

2. Paying higher rates

3. Not being rapers, creepers, and liars

One of the major issues studios have is that the guys behind the studios want to pressure the performers into doing extra scenes or let male performers do exactly the things performers say are their personal boundaries. They like propositioning the women off-camera. They tell their employees not to shoot women who won't fuck them off-camera.

Studios don't know how to act, so they get what they get.

Performers could stand to hire camera men for their creator-owned content now and then so that it's not *always* a phone with one angle though. But still, studios created this environment because there is no government to make them not be pieces of shit.

I agree with everything you wrote. I would only add that it's often bad pussy licking, little to no breasts play and quick passionless kissing that sinks just about every modern lesbian scene. On the plus side. I rarely have to worry about any of these things if I'm watching b/g porn because it would appear that modern porn fans don't care about any of these things in b/g porn.

in my opinion, 0F will eventually evolve to offer experiences similar to or better then the main stream porn from studios we loved over the last decade.

The problem with only fans is because because it is behind a pay wall. It is very hard to uncover the quality of what you're getting or to preview talent

make no mistake. It is too profitable for someone to not figure out how to put out great content and advertise it. The pendulum will eventually shift in those don't produce good OF content well feel the economic squeeze may still take several years, however

^ Maybe, maybe not. With OF you're only getting one girl. I know that I won't be spending $50.00 a month on 3, 4, or more individual OF sites. I think OF is going to wind up being a place where only a handful of girls will be very successful. It will lessen the variety of different girls in porn.

Maybe most folks no longer openly judge others' porn habits, but do you really think that they don't still judge? Would you strike up a conversation with your colleagues at the office which makes it clear that you watch a significant amount of porn? I sure wouldn't...

^^^ I highly doubt that. OF is a fundamentally different animal. While I will never understand why in the world this is so, I am now fairly well convinced that the primary draw of OF, for most of its users, is not really the porn content itself, but rather the (entirely transparent) illusion of some sort of social connection between the performer and the fans. Folks like me, and, I presume, you, who are interested in quality content rather social media nonsense, are not the target audience for 95% of OF accounts, so there is no real impetus to produce high-quality, full-length, professional-style content.

Of course, this is leaving aside the whole issue of being a streaming-only platform. Personally, I have absolutely zero interest in streaming, and while I certainly have no hard numbers, I suspect that the proportion of porn fans who would agree with that is really significant.

The only reason I wouldn't discuss porn in the workplace is because that could lead to some sort of disciplinary action.

I have however discussed porn with colleagues outside of a workplace setting

Of is not an actual porn site that you can join and get access to multiple models. You have to individually join the OF account of the model you are interested in. I mean OF is basically a mixture of C4S/Many Vids, Chaturbate/My Free Cams and twitter/Facebook. Exactly how would it be able to evolve from that? I would add why would they even bother? OF doesn't produce anything so as long as someone is willing to use their services and people are willing to join those peoples OF accounts then OF is making 20% on each dollar the model makes.
Actually the paywall is the most important feature for the people who are interested in producing content because the only way you and I can see that content(if you are lucky) is to fork over the join price. I said lucky because we all know that the good stuff usually requires that you to fork over more money.

If models really wanted to be on the up and up about their content then they already have two platform that offer the viewer a general idea. C4S and many Vids. In fact I suspect that a smart Of model will use either of both platform to upload content that was previously behind her OF paywall if she notices that interest has gone down.

I agree that models who produce less than stellar content on their OF account will go extinct but it will still take a long time and cost money to many people whose only crime was that they hoped this model would offer them something of value.

The most upfront performers use Onlyfans and also keep a ManyVids. They usually charge a little more on Manyvids because ManyVids takes 40% of a sale, as opposed to 20% on OF, and because they miss that initial OF join fee. All that said, the best and most trusted performers are now doing "free" OF pages where they don't really message people or anything like that but instead just post pay-to-unlock videos with previews so that users can operate like a clip store. That is my preferred method for buying direct from performers.

Meh. There's plenty of older porn of any type. If buying a particular video is inconvenient, then I'll find something else. I don't waste money on huge new ultra-something monitors, so ultra huge files are just wasted hard drive space to me.

I must say that I agree that the period between 2010-2020 was probably the golden age, mainly because of the type of girls that were in the industry (talented and ready for anything). Nowadays, girls are more interested in making a name for themselves and being popular in the media. You have girls who, for example, go from "I don't do a certain thing" to doing it if they get an exclusive contract, a ridiculous amount of money or a showcase.

Speaking of companies, every day it is more difficult to find productions that really call my attention. For me there is nothing more frustrating than seeing top girls in a scene completely ruined by a weird script, has it really become so difficult to make a good scene? I feel that sometimes they pay attention to so many things (costumes, sets, scripts), that they forget the basics.

^You are entitled to believe that but I would say that 2000 to 2010 is a superior decade. You see a significantly better crop of performers across a far greater variety of body type, ethnicity and age groups then last decade has been able to offer. If you want to see the true golden age of modern porn then look no further than what was or is still available from the first decade of the 21st century.

Of course that doesn't mean that you haven't had an amazing crop of incredible performers this last decade because you have and it would take me a long time to name most of them but many of those started pre-2010 and if we are talking decades then pre-2013.

I do agree with you that it's getting hard to find porn that I want to watch and even more so if I'm looking for scenario driven porn because that is no longer something the industry seems to be trying to make. The few that do either don't know how to do it ight, don't care to do it right or don't have the money.

^ If I had to pick one specific decade, yeah, I would probably agree. Really though, I find that the 20 years between, say, 1992 and 2012 were the best for me. Nearly all of my favorite performers were significantly active in those years, and most had all, or almost all, of their careers in that range.

We reached the peak of porn. Its downhill from now. OF is just too lucrative for performers but its rotten for consumers. Its full of micro transactions and poor quality. The talent pool for studios have shrunk and there is a noticeable dip in star power.

The peak may have been 10 years ago. I'm thinking of all the showcases that created an insane buzz, where people speculated for weeks - who is the girl, who is shooting her 1st anal scene, etc.? Has been dead for years. Or other studios that bumped all their big titles many years ago.

I agree with the last 3 or 4 posts BUT the porn industry as a whole is at fault for their decline.

They stopped listening to what the fans wanted, IMO, and preceded to put their collective heads up their collective asses and thought they were geniuses.

Delusional Director: "Hey, I've got an idea: let's make a lot of 'free-use' scenes where the women won't react to being fucked. They'll just lay there and have normal conversations with whoever else is in the room and act like they're not being fucked."

Delusional Producer: "You're a genius, Smithee! You always know better than the fans! Here's a blank check!"

^I'm not as willing as you to blame the problems the industry is facing on themselves. They have to take some of the responsibility but they certainly can't be blamed for the popularity of OF because I'm not so sure that OF would be what it is today if we hadn't had a world changing Covid outbreak that lasted a couple of years and decimated porn studios that were already struggling. I'm not even sure that OF is going to survive long term the way it currently does business. I still argue that only a very small amount of models can earn a living from OF while the vast majority scrape by with smaller and smaller profits. There has been over-saturation of models in the porn industry for decades and that number pales when compared to models on OF. That's not even counting the fact that you can still see multiple models with one membership which you certainly can't with OF.

I don't know that the porn industry ever really listened to their fans. I just think that you had better people behind the camera who knew how to make a product that would appeal to a large portion of the fan base but ultimately those people still got shafted by all the porn fans who chose to go the free porn route. I don't know about you but the incentive to make good porn would not be my main goal if that happened to me. I'd do the least possible that still earns me a decent living and I'd look for just about any means that saves me on production cost as well.

the upside to all this is that much of todays talent r just way hotter and r "normal" in the sense that they are kind of regular, everyday hot girls who wouldn't do porn whatsoever if of wasn't around. they see it as a means to an end. there's a new type of ho these days, an intermediary between the og porn sluts and non sex workers. These r girls who r not prude and obviously r the party type but need money so they do of. I doubt any of them actually aspired to do sex work or love porn the way many pornstars do, despite having other options in life. take Jennifer white for ex. she's college educated and from a good family but chose to do porn for reasons not having to do with money. where's as the new chicks, many of whom shoot for net video girls or team skeets she's new once or twice thinking it'll start a career but most of them realize of isnt easy at all. u can be the best pornstar but if nobody seeks u out ur fucked. marketing is dubious and near impossible for of. I like when it's obvious that a girl is new to the industry. u can really tell by their pjs. I love when she is actually struggling to take it down and is inexperienced. these ones wouldn't have shot if it weren't for the hope of of

^Maybe it's important for his fantasy that these so called good girls do porn because they love all that great porn sex they get to have and getting paid is just the cherry on top. Let's hope that if this is the case then he doesn't dig too deeply in what doing porn is really like because I'm not sure he would ever enjoy watching porn again.

I understand and agree with the concerns in this thread. It may be a possible solution if
mainstream companies from the motor industry, airlines, telcom business, fast food outlets, provided advertising
for porn sites. That would provide a cashflow to counter OF etc.. and to hire models and tech support to make
porn good again. It may sound like saying, "we should pay tech billionaires more", but I think such an
injection of cash is what the porn business needs now. Of course there may be backlash from consumers of
the main street products blacklisting such companies, but risk is part of life.

^Do you really believe that there is a single company that would be willing to have their name associated with any type of adult content? Let alone porn? I mean mainstream movie studios try to avoid getting the dreaded X rating because they know it affects their ability to market their movie and we are talking about mainstream movies. This kind of idea wasn't feasible even when the porn industry was a powerhouse and you have performers known in mainstream media but today when the industry as a whole is barely a shadow of it's past greatness. You are asking for the impossible.

I can't help but point out that the industries monetary problems have absolutely nothing to do with OF or similar platforms and everything to do with people believing that porn is free because it's available on the net. The only reason why the mainstream entertainment industry is doing better than porn is in large part because it's much harder to get their content for free on the net. You idea for the industry would only work if you know someone who is ultra rich and willing to lose millions of dollars paying for content that will never be profitable. I don't know about you but every ultra rich person I'm aware of does not want to lose money.
