I think one thing that held back Samantha Ryan's career was that early in her career she only did b/g scenes with Kurt Lockwood, her significant other at the time. Also, the time as a blonde probably didn't help. imo, she's always looked much better as a brunette.

Yep, she was always under-appreciated IMO. She was a great actress in addition to being a great performer. And she never had any work done, and did so many scenes. She was one of the crown jewels of Girlfriends Films, but those bridges are burned because things did end well. Her G/G portfolio alone is massive! Years ago, she was dating Kurt Lockwood and Kurt was abusive to her verbally and physically. She got out of that relationship, but not before he stole some amount of money from her. Years later, possibly unaware of the history between them, Girlfriend either booked them together or scheduled them to be on the same set. She called the owner, made sure to tell him about their history, and said that she wasn't willing to be on set with him. They proceeded to not only cancel the scene without rebooking it, but they didn't give her her full "kill fee" (what a production company will normally pay a performer when they have to cancel a scene).

^^&^^^It's not that disagree with you guys because I think that she is and always was an underrated performer but in many ways her career choices must have affected the way she is perceived. Most of her b/g stuff was done early in her career and many were with Kurt Lockwood. A decent enough performer but working with only one male tends to affect the way fans perceive you and when you couple that with the fact that the bulk of her career was either non-sex or g/g only and you can sort of see why she might be underrated. That said I am a huge fan of her g/g performances because if she was a gay for pay performer then I never saw it any of her performances. In fact I kind of thought that she was gay and did b/g for pay.
Always been a huge Samantha Ryan fan. I wondered if she took her name form the female sports broadcaster of the same name.
