As one who spends more time than he should, pursuing really good plot-driven adult films---to keep my interest for very long, there MUST a reason for the "in and out."--I am in a position to offer you some "rock hard" suggestions.
First, be sure that you get the "right" company, for some, even though they are making a plot-driven production, make the fatal mistake of leaning too heavily on the sex, and lose all continuity of any story line.----Fine with some, but not me!
In other words, there must be a delicate balance between sex scenes and dialogue scenes, for a feature to really, "CUM together."
That said, I don't believe any company maintains this balance any better than Wicked Pictures, so, as a rule, you will go wrong with very few Wicked features.
Next, check out the director, for, just as in any main stream film, its this person, more than any other, who must make a feature, "click."
Some of the outstanding feature film porn directors, whose names you should check the box covers for then. are Brad Armstrong, Michael Raven, Nic Andrews, Antonio Passolini, , Michael Ninn (only, his earlier films, not his recent mindless "cheesecake" ), Paul Thomas, Jonathan Morgan, Veronica Hart and Stormy Daniels, a recent female director, who seems to get better with each film.
Of course, just as in the main-stream productions, you must also check out who is performing in a "steam-stream" feature, and HERE, you can't go wrong with ANY film, starring Jessica Drake--"Delilah" being my all-time favorite, followed by "Manhunters."
Other female performers, I have "really enjoyed" seeing in various feature film appearances over the years, are Sydnee Steele ("Falling From Grace") Jenna Jameson ("Masseuse II) Asia Carerra ("Apassionata,") Taylor St Claire ("Fashionistas," a "MUST SEE), Serenity ("M The Movie,") Ashlyn Gere ("Internal Affairs,") Dyanna Lauren ("Bad Wives,") Devon (No Motive), and Jenna Fine ("Night & Day 3")
Among the men, the BEST porn actor/performers in feature films, imho, are Randy Spears, Mike Horner, and Stephen St Croix.
