No, because Hi-def has to be shot with Hi-def equipment, you can't just 'update'.
However, increasing to a higher resolution might be a possibility.

There is HUGE money to be made from back catalog that currently is not economically feasible by releasing single VHS-era titles on single DVDs. The printed music scenario is very illustrative here. Rather than abandon these songs forever (which regrettably is happening), collections of songs (referred to as "mixed folios") are still viable in books. Typically, a book will have 10-50 songs and sell for $12.95-24.95. So, a $19.95-24.95 porn video, on blu-ray or HD, that contains four movies -- that will NEVER otherwise see the light of day again -- is good for everybody! |

Bob's idea makes the most sense, but even there sufficient demand is questionable. |
