I feel like the newer group that is mainly featured in the hardX releases might give a clue as to who the new stars will be. But here are a few that seem likely to me: Keisha Grey Jillian Janson Lola Foxx Lilith Lust Others: Callie Calypso Noelle Easton Alina Li *forgive me if I get some of the chronology wrong. I am only going by what I see as emerging popularity (I don't know everyone's history or titles they've put out. It's just an observation.) Who am I missing? Log on to iafd.com on any given day and there are at least 20 non-gay pornstars having a birthday (so let's say, very conservatively, there are 7000 pornstars all time). Of course 'all time' really just means 'since the early 1970s', so let's say, very liberally, 45 years (or 540 months). Simple math tell us there at least about 11 new pornstars every month - in this calculation I've discounted the very liberal estimate that 10% of all pornstars are men. Pretty sure there weren't 11 new female pornstars emerging every month during the 1970s - if there was an increase in the rate of new talent it would have been around the videotape revolution. So it's probably safe to say that currently maybe 15 pornstars are starting out each month or 1 every two days. Secondly, in the context of porn, the term 'star' is used as a job description, not as some sort of designation to indicate stellar ability or achievement. So how do we sort the wheat from the chaff? Not including web scenes, the allegedly under-utilized Penny Pax appeared in more productions in 2012 and 2013 than NFL games played by Colin Kaepernick in the same period. In 2012 Remy LaCroix engaged in anal performance in more productions than Derek Jeter scored home runs that season. Of the 7000 all time pornstars, the vast majority are, or have been paid fees like tradespeople - not percentages of gross revenue, not bonuses, no residuals. All of which is to say how can anyone say tell if the latest bunch of porn performers is more 'starry' than last month's new entrants - when there are so many, doing so much, for so little? Of course the obvious answer is that the OP is just opinion and opinions are the lifeblood of fora, so what's my beef? Well there's valid opinion and then there's 'opinion' that's just filling up silence with noise (or bandwidth with text). Valid opinion is not defined by whether I agree with it but more the validity is grounded upon it being a personal interpretation of some existing reality, or a perception based on some facts. There's nothing wrong with with banging on about how great Keisha Gray, or Veruca James, or Lola Foxx is. And there's nothing world-shatteringly wrong with trying to talk up this admiration in terms of a new wave of great porn stars. I just think there's no basis for doing so and, if I'm being blunt, just more than a little sad. Having got that off my chest, I'll throw the name Adriana Chechik into the ring. [Link] |
