The movie will be out in 2012 we are finishing the final touches on it right now. You can see some previews and get news from Micael Ninn's facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002482982839
The Four This is crazy, I have a million questions. I thought it was never completed, isn't the entire cast retired by now? (if they are retired, I have heard next to nothing from them in a while) 4 years is a lifetime in porno. So if it is half as good as it looks it will be up for a zillion AVN awards. Chances are none of the nominees will be there. The politics around this is fascinating!
You're not the only one with a million questions phatbasey. LOL Unfortunately, at this point most of the answers are just going to make for a headache. Man, this release has taken so many twists and turns that just having an actual release date (January 2012) is more than most people ever though would happen. The movie is finally done, to Adam and Eve for their end of packaging, marketing and distribution. And hey, Cuddly Wombat - thankfully you can put away the leather undies for this year's Vegas show. This is only a rumor, but supposedly Ninn got all five former contract girls together and is in pre-production for a new movie next year. It is not a sequel to 'Four'. They have all been in touch with Ninn concerning the date of release, that has been confirmed from the various top sources.
Are you insinuating that Miss Bennett, Miss Perez and Miss Alexis Love are coming back?? These three are stunning gorgeous. I would love to see them once more and can't wait to get a copy of The Four.
You can see some production footage from THE FOUR in a promo piece I just edited for Michael at http://vimeo.com/33522637 should be up on his official youtube soon as well http://www.youtube.com/user/IMNMEDIA?feature=watch
It should be showing up in stores any moment now as I had a copy arrive today. It's a very impressive looking package, and one that's massive enough it's going to take me quite a while to clear enough time to get through decently. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to take a quick peek... "I do not as a rule seek advice about food from thin people..." - Jeffrey Steingarten
Not yet. I'm hoping to have enough time for a quick look within the next week... "I do not as a rule seek advice about food from thin people..." - Jeffrey Steingarten
WTF? Next week? For Gods sake, you got Brea and Alexis in their last B/G and in addition Renee Perez in her first and only B/G. And you're waiting to next week =)=)=)=)=) I've ordered the movie, but will not receive it before 3.Feb.
Yep, when I review a feature movie I hate spreading it out over multiple nights (no problem doing the bonus scenes a night before or after, but I want to keep the movie together). The movie on this one's massive and spread over 2 DVD with 14 scenes (IIRC) and then the bonus material is spread over another 2 DVDs. I do not want to spend an entire week going through this one (and if it looks like that I'm going to want to build up a few reviews in the can to cover for while I go through it). On paper Adam & Eve and Ninn Worx have clearly thrown down the gauntlet for the title to be beat this year with The Four. Even if it's half as impressive as what it looks to be it's going to be a winner. "I do not as a rule seek advice about food from thin people..." - Jeffrey Steingarten
Okay, a few quick thoughts and details after taking a mere half hour to check out this amazing 4 DVD set... The movie runs roughly 200 minutes (89 min. on the first DVD and 111 min. on the second DVD) with nine sex scenes. Even at a glance I'm amazed at the movie. It's every bit as visually stunning and artistic as one would expect from Michael Ninn, and my first impression was that it's the best thing to come out of Ninn Worx (and I was impressed with much of what I saw from there) and struck me as a true labor of love by its creators. This was not an easy movie to make, and after hearing a bit about some of the battles Ninn went through to get it released as it is, I can see why he was so adamant about bringing his vision forward as it was. DVD #3 is a behind the scenes feature directed by Chris King and lasting 137 min. I had to go back and correct that sentence as I originally called it a "featurette" instead of the full blown feature it is. It's presented in a nice artistic style and appears to do an amazing job showing the making of the movie with interviews with the cast and creators as well as the technical side to give the movie the look it does. This isn't just "lets have a camera showing a camera watching people fuck" featurette, and when it does come close to doing that it's kicked up a notch with comments from the stars talking about making it. This behind the scenes featurette appears to show far more care than the average adult feature, let alone gonzo or all sex production. DVD #4 lasts 181 minutes and contains "Meet the Women of Ninn Worx". There appears to be about a half hour of interviews with the girls split over the beginning and end of the feature, and everything in between is a collection of eye candy from other Ninn Worx releases featuring Brea, Renee, Nikki, Cassidey, and Jana. Each girl appears to get a solo scene as well as another scene, and some of them might even get two scenes. The back cover of The Four claims there are fourteen hardcore scenes, nine of which are in the main feature, but in reality there may be over twenty. Bottom line - if you're the least bit interested in this release buy it. Ninn's been around long enough that odds are you know if his style works for you or not and he looks to not be playing at the top of his game here, but inventing a whole new game. Even if the movie doesn't work for you as well as you hope there's roughly two and a half hours of other scenes in the extras. This is a downright amazing release and even at a glance I can't see how it won't clean up at awards time. "I do not as a rule seek advice about food from thin people..." - Jeffrey Steingarten
I'm watching this now and it truly is an epic piece of film. Not really sold on the darker aspects to the picture which at times makes the sex hard to fully make out. But one shouldn't go into a piece like this expecting Big Wet Tits or a Ass Worship style of gonzo film because this ain't that! It's interesting to watch and the story is engaging as are the sets, the costumes and the music. Just started the second disc and haven't watched the other two discs yet but thought I'd give a short take on what I have seen so far. I know this was shot some years back, I remember being at AVN and seeing the people dressed up and then the film didn't come out. Glad to see it finally is and those who have wanted to see it now have that chance. If you are a fan of Michael Ninn's style this sweeping film should impress you a lot.
Finished the movie and it is definitely an experience to watch. There were a few questions for me and hopefully they might be answered in the lengthy Behind the Scenes movie which is a movie in itself clocking in at over 2 hours. This is most certainly an EPIC in every sense of the word.
Wow!!!!!!!!! after watching Brea Bennett, Alexis Love and Tristan, we should start a petition to bring these back. Especially Brea, she was stunning in the movie.
So far, no plans for new releases by Ninn. However, the entire Ninn catalog is now available again, which it was not for almost 3 years. Also, you can always check out the new www.michaelninn.com and iGirlPortal.com sites, for new video, stills and archives of Ninn's work. Bono-one, from your review I think I see the question . . . Plataea (Nikki Kane) is visited by the spirit of Leonidas as she returns to Sparta. What happens after that encounter should be explained the ending voice over. ;) More trivia: All of the Four warriors, (outside of Gorgo), are named for great battles in the history of Greece; Plataea, Salamis and Mycale. In the Alternate Reality Game that was created in 2008 to promote the movie, "Son of Leonidas" (played by Reno in The Four) was named Khronos/Chronus (however spelled Kronos to point to the "Kronos Time Clock", an ARG clue) which is the Greek personification for "Time". "Kronos" appears to Salamis (portrayed by Cassidey) during her journey to Xerxes palace, and offers her physical comfort and protection. There are three somewhat "spirited" sex scenes in The Four, and this is one of them . . . . And because he's not named on the credit titles or box, (that I can see anyway), actor "Jared" was the wounded warrior encountered by Mycale (Renee Perez) on her way to Xerxes palace. It was another "spirited" sex scene, with Mycale finally being able to fuck her husband, who died in the battle of the 300, which kicked off the whole mission of The Four.
