I just placed an order for 13 DVD's at AdultDVDNow but I noticed I could not use the free shipping option anymore. I had to use the $21 shipping (at least I could use the $50 coupon).
I'm really sad by this because the free option always worked great for me.
Noticed that also and asked them for the reason. Here's the reply: --------------------------------------------------------- Although that is unfortunate, we can no longer offer the free shipping. It proved to be very costly, and with the profit margin being so low it is not a cost that we can afford to absorb. We may bring back the slower service, but it will not be free. A cost analysis is in the works currently. ---------------------------------------------------------
They're very quick cause it's already online. For the slowest shipping option we have to pay $3.75 for 4 DVDs now like that:
1-4 -> $ 3.75 4-8 -> $ 7.50 8-12 -> $ 11.25
Think that's moderate, cause they also have free items or coupons!
If you order for $100 or more you can use one of their coupons which compensate for the shipping. Think it's ok like it is now. Their shipping is always one of the cheapest. If they will loose international customers, maybe they will lower the shipping or bring back the free shipping. Let's see ;-)
It's true about the coupon but the problem is the coupon is only valid during a period of time so you have to wait until it's coupon-time again before you can order again.
Like the coupons they have right now are only valid till March 28th, 2004.
Yes that's right and when you wait too long the titles are out of stock and very often even disappear completely from their side. The problem is that you can't order out of stock titles. Don't know how they will know if a title is very popular or not.
I agree about the stock problem. I mean I wanted to order We Swallow 4 at AdultDVDNow but it was out of stock the next day and who knows when they have it back in stock again.

I think that's why they added the wish list, so you can keep track of what you want to order that isn't in stock. of course many of us want what we want when we want it :)
That would make sense if they had a large stock, but a lot of titles get out of stock for weeks or aren't listed anymore. But I think that's a problem of all resellers, cause the adult market has so many titles, you can't stock everything!
