Watched "Rocco's Dirty Dreams 2" last night and Rocco himself was not in any of the sex scenes. I have never scene a Rocco video that he was not the featured male performer in. Anybody know what's up with that?

Didn't you heard that Rocco isn't performing any longer? He's retired since the beginning of 2005. All scenes released after that time are shot before. And I think nearly all of the older scenes are released now.

No, obviouusly that was the reason for the question. Why did he retire? Married? Tired of sex scenes? Health reason? What?

I'm sure Animal Trainer 20 features him as a performer.

I have to say that Dark Side of Suzan did not miss Rocco the perfomer - but benefitted from Rocco the director.

I think Rocco is going to be performing in the upcumming Fashionistas 2, which will probably be out late this year.

Rocco is 'mostly retired'.
He always said he would stop being in front of the camera at age 40, but then 40 came around, and it wasn't like he was a completely different person than he was at age 39...
He is performing less than before, but like they say... Never Say Never.

And twizted is correct - I did say before that Rocco will be in Fashionistas 2.

I am curious how Rocco's DVD sales are going to be once people realize he isn't going to be in them.

He's already married with Rosa Caracciolo (but this is a stage name she's hungarian) and they have two babies

Rosa was a pornstar but since he met her before she began he career she shot with him only and only featured movies her first was the bodyguard in which she worked because the scheduled actress flaked the scene so Rocco asked her if she can do that scene and she accepted , they hooked up since then.

That's an interesting thought - also quality wise? I tend to feel, for example, Christoph Clark's movies lost a certain something when he stopped performing in them. That said, from what I've seen so far the Rocco-free scenes in more recent movies were a little better than similar scenes of the past which did tend to feel like filler on occasion.

So it may work out quite well - the big problem being which of the guys is capable of filling the gap Rocco's going to leave.

While guys like Nacho Vidal and Manuel Ferrara each made a significant contribution to Rocco's movies before making their own way as directors, I'm not so sure Rocco's current male performers can fill his shoes, or even create their own equivalent star persona; for example,Jazz Duro has the looks but not the attitude, Omar Galanti has the attitude but not the looks and so on.

From Wikipedia
Rocco has been married to Hungarian-born, naturalised Italian porn actress and a former Miss Hungary Rosa Caracciolo (born Rozsa Tassi) since 1991. In June 2004, Siffredi declared, for the sake of his children, that he would retire from porn, and instead focus on filming and producing. He was quoted as saying, "My children are growing up, and I can no longer just say 'Dad is going to work to make money for the family.' They want to know more."

Has 2 sons
Son: Lorenzo (b. 1997)
Son: Leonardo (b. 2000)

Tricia,

Rocco is a different person at age 40+ than he was 10 or more years ago. We have often thought having too much sex makes your hair fall out. It's kinda the opposite of jerking off too much which is supposed to cause hair to grow in your palm. Rocco was one of our favorite directors early and we finally quit watching his movies which is why we didn't know what's up with him. We love Rocco's early stuff and are hoping John Leslie is getting back to the way he used to direct which we thought Fresh Meat 20 indicated. Both of them can work on stimulating both your mind and your visual senses and that's what young directors today need to work on. Evil Angel has always been tops on our list for gonzo videos and we got to where we were looking elsewhwere (Red Light, 3rd Degree, Zero Tolerance) because the Evil Angel videos weren't the same. I hope Evil Angel is coming back ... clearly the guys over 40 getting off the screen and getting back to what made Evil angel the best behind the camera is a good start.

I'm quite puzzled about where you're coming from with this - given that any one of Rocco, Christoph Clark, John Leslie, Joey Silvera or John Stagliano is significantly more charismatic than the people following in their wake. Why would you even consider the notion that Evil Angel are "coming back"? When exactly they lose their way? I totally share your view that today's younger directors do need to work on stimulating your mind but as far as I can see this has always been the case with Evil Angel - they've always led the way in individual, creative porn and the studios you've listed have made a significant contribution to shaping the punter pleasing but rather predictable state of the art today.

Gabriel,

As you know what's either good or bad in porn depends on "the eye of the beholder". I believe 10 years ago all directors did more directing before they turned the camera on and less talking, groping, etc from behind the camera when it was turned on. Then as POV became popular, it became more common for directors not doing POV to talk to people being filmed and direct them in that way and also to squeeze their tits and ass from behind the camera. The best example is Christoph Clark who is always talking now and playing grab ass and saying "Oh, you are so incredible ....Oh yes, do that ..... Oh, show me your tits". I used to love the "Beautiful Girls" series and finally couldn't stand Christoph's chatter and quit watching the series. I still like "Euro Domination" because he stays behind the camera in that series. Some time ago Tricia mentioned in a thread that Evil Angel directors were starting to copy the trends in directing that we see in gonzo today and she was trying to get them to stick to what made them the best. I hope she succeeds. For me, directors needs to direct before the camera is turned on and never appear or speak on film unless they are in a scene and I generally don't like those videos as well as the one where the director only directs like a classic John Leslie video. I hope this answers your question and I hope it this discussion helps convince the Evil Angel crew to stick to their knitting and not copy the stuff everybody else is putting out there. I like Jonni Darkko's work as he stays in his role as director and am hopeful that style which has been Evil Angel's bread and butter is spreading to the new directors they're attracting to the label.

If it's the thing that I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure I said that Christoph was very concerned about trying to give viewers the thing they wanted most up-to-date, and it was him that we were trying to convince that if he just did what felt right, he'd be fine.
I can't really remember saying that any other Evil Angel directors had changed their signature style due to fan pressure.

Her name is Noemi and her scene is the best in the whole movie. She gets a really good ass pounding from Kid Jamaica and Franco Roccaforte.

Tricia,

I can't remember the thread or exactly the context, but it seemed like it was more than just Christoph you were referring to ... maybe I'll look for it, but it's not that important. The whole point is Evil Angel has set the standard for gonzo and my observation and your comment (I thought) indicated they were adopting styles from Johnny come lately's at Red Light, 3rd Degree, ZT in working both sides of the camera and talking kinda POV style when its not POV. I prefer the old style where the director directs before turning on the camera and concentrates on getting the right camera shots once it is turned on. If I suggested it was a response to fan pressure, that was not what I meant. Your comment also may not have meant what I read into it, but I was hoping it did. I really like Jonni Darkko and Justin Slayer's style, think John Leslie has been the best, have enjoyed Tanya Hyde videos, think I will like Rocco again, like Eric Everhard, John's Buttman series was what originally attracted me to Evil Angel. Evil Angel has the best talent behind the camera and can put out the quality videos that have always been Evil Angel's trademark. I have been straying lately, but am coming back .... keep me cumming.

dicknjane-
I understand what you're saying. I definitely think we miscommunicated before.

As an example, the reason we took on Erik Everhard and Manuel Ferrara when we did is because they were showing us that they no longer wanted to keep shooting in the style of their former company. They wanted to expand.

As for the POV/non-POV thing - it's a matter of personal preference whether it bothers you or not. I am probably a bit more towards what you're saying you like. I do like hearing the cameraman/director sometimes, but not ALL the time. I like believing that the girl is sexy enough on her own that she needs very minimal 'prompting' to be able to know how to turn me on.

Tricia,

Now we are on exactly same wavelength. One of my favorite scenes of all time is you in "Vouyer 6" (1996) with Mark Davis and Nikki Brantz. I don't remember hearing John Leslie to tell you, Nikki or Mark what or when to do anything. It was hot then and would be hot today. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout .... directors who direct and porn stars who get real as Dr. Phil would say.

Hmmm.....

I hate to hear that Rocco may no longer be performing and no, I don't think there's really any male talent out there who can fill his shoes. There may be a few who could come close but I can't think of anyone who can perform with the same intensity as Rocco.

As far as POV and directors talking and groping from behind the camera.....wasn't that kind of a trademark of the Buttman series? I mean, certainly, John didn't jabber all the time but I do remember him talking and fingering and fondling quite a bit over the years.

At any rate, I trust EAV is still right there at the top where it always was. I haven't rented or bought any for a while but honestly...I always felt that the other studios copied way more off of EA than vice versa.

When I read that Rocco is not in Dirty Dreams 2, I sort of didn't bother to rent it till a few days ago, but man, now that I have watched it, this movie is as solid as any other Rocco movie. I think it's Rocco's best film this year so far, even though he didn't perform in it. Last scene was my favorite, featuring Tiffany Hopkins and Angelika. I had scene Tiffany before in American films and I thought she looked OK, but here she looks stunning. Another chick that blew me away was Gilda, although she didn't do anal.

It will be sad to see Rocco not perform again as he brought the kind of passionate insanity and intensity that very few male actors can deliver. Manuel is the only other one I can think of. But he's smart enough to have solid male performers in his films who can perform at top level.

Thats a thing about pornstar having children that is really sad, when they turn 16 there so much chance they actually found some of there mom-dad movies ...i mean some pornstar have 5 years old children and continue to perform, so add 10 years, its not that much(its pretty easy to see movies from 95) so they will probably find some of there parents movies, and some of there friend can find them too, if its your dad then its not that bad, actually peoples will say ``man your dad was so lucky he use to fuck all these girl`` but if its your mother, then the sentence son of a bitch get a lot of sense, and you will really get a lot of trash talk from other childrens like ``haha i saw your mother fuck`` , the extreme girls that do the max hardcore or pissmops etc are better to never have childrens...

Imagine if a guy would actually jerk off on one of his mother scene...brrrrr thats freaking.

Likewise, I think I picked you guys up wrong. Sorry I missed your response to me at the time, but belated thanks for your thoughtful comments, dicknjane. Obviously there's quite a difference in our perspectives on what we're seeing but I appreciate what you're saying.

Personally, reflecting on what Tricia was saying about Christoph, I have my own concerns about his direction and doesn't fully recognise his own quality as a director, but that's another topic!

I think Rocco has more of his own agenda, his movies seem to take longer to be released and perhaps this is what keeps him out of trends and making knee-jerk reactions to fans' demands.

One of his two proteges is in this scene, Omar Galanti. He doesn't have the looks and the charisma of Rocco, but he's a very good performer. And a nasty one. At the end of the scene he comes in his hands, put the sperm in his mouth and then spits it in the open mouth of Angelica and Tiffany. I think this is not everyones taste.
