Yeah I definitely would love to hear how she's doing too.
Hopefully no news is good news and she's continuing with her recovery and enjoying life outside the biz.

I'm glad to hear that she's in remission. I was really curious to know how she was doing after reading about her breast cancer. Best of Luck in whatever future endeavor she does.

^As am I--but if she's joined the XXXChurch, it means she's tunred against adult entertainment. Which is--to put it mildly--disappointing.

I hope she's truly happy with her choice.

I wish Stephanie Swift only the very best. Remember her as an excellent performer going back to the mid-90s. Read somewhere that she has been a long-time churchgoer. Am genuinely curious as to how much help she received from the industry in her hour of need. Also, has Ms. Lubben provided help from her church? Would think that it would be difficult for Ms. Lubben or anyone else to portray Ms. Swift as a victim given her longevity, but under any circumstances I wish Stephanie Swift the best of health and the greatest happiness.

Thanks for the update. Very happy to hear about her being in remission. As for her life from here an out, that's up to her and whatever she chooses, I hope she finds happiness.

I've never been a fan but just posting to wish her the best. About the religion thing, no judgments there from me. Cancer is a terrifying thing and even the thought you might have it really wakes you up. I would hope she wouldn't try and destroy the adult business just because she's changed her own mind about it, though.

I've been a big Stephanie Swift fan for years and am glad she's recovering...on the one hand though is that if this new found religion stuff is bringing her happiness than that's all that really matters...on the other hand, this organization obviously has it's fair share of whackjobs...Hopefully Stephanie won't turn into one...

Speaking of that Pink Cross Foundation, one of the former performers in that group is a woman named Jenni Case, but I don't think that was her stage name. I know I saw her in a couple films, but I can't remember the name of any of them to look it up at IAFD. One of them I know was with Joey Silvera, who she teases while she plays with herself. After she is done, she tells Joey that she isn't in the mood anymore. She had strawberry blonde hair. I know it isn't much, but....

Even if her happiness consists of working to destroy the porn industry? Because when you join Craig Gross' XXX Church, that's what it's all about!

I have watched the video of her talking about how she got involved in the x-rated industry and eventually joined XXXchurch after getting out of it. When she talks, she is not melodramatic like Shelley Lubben and the ex-porn actresses involved with the Pink Cross Foundation. At no time in the video does Stephanie Swift complain about being mistreated or getting sexual diseases from being in porn. You typically hear a bunch of horror stories from women involved with the Pink Cross Foundation. Years ago, my Mother met Shelly Lubben in a restroom at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Shelly went up to my Mother and complimented my Mother on her red hair. Shelly handed my Mother a business card but my Mother did not know who was. Later on, I was shown the business card and I knew who my Mother talked to.
Stephanie says she developed her porn actress persona because she was unhappy with her self because of being molested from 1 to 14 years old. XXXChurch says that Stephanie has told them that "Cancer saved my life." It is a weird statement to make because I wonder why God would let people get cancer. You would think that God could make people without them having the genetic tendency to get cancer, alzheimer's, blindness, schizophrenia, manic depression and other things physically wrong with people. I believe there is probably a God because our complicated world and universe is able to work so it makes me think that there is an intelligence behind it.
I have met Stephanie Swift several times at conventions. At one of the conventions, a guy brought up a bunch of the same picture of her. She signed every one of them without asking to be paid to do this. The guy could have had dozens of the same picture. On one occasion, I brought up a few items for her to sign and she personally signed all of them. I was once at a signing for Gauge and Stephanie was hanging out at the booth. When Gauge saw the slick for Feeding Frenzy 1 that I brought up to her, she said "I'm surrounded by pee pees." As Gauge was signing 3 of them for me, Stephanie looked at it and laughed. After I handed Stephanie a slick to keep, Gauge signed it for her.

From one end of the spectrum to the other. Being somewhere in the middle, where things are balanced, is your best shot at living a somewhat happy and healthy life. Hopefully she'll figure that out.

Hey Hawkman, I appreciate that response.
I saw the video she made, and it reminded me of Traci Lord's autobiography in that both asserted that after being sexually abused as minors, they wanted - and, in fact, desperately needed to recapture - their sexuality. They found a forum to do this in the porn industry. Yet, both chose to not to thank the industry for providing them with what they themselves regarded as a much-needed psychic boost. That ingratitude really, really annoys me.
What also bugs me is she chose not to give a shout-out to those performers who helped her out financially when her breast cancer was in full swing. Do these omissions sit well with her new conception of 'born-again' Christian virtue?
I suppose one could argue that if she did that, Craig Gross would not allow her in his group, so she had to make some sort of compromise in order to secure much-needed post-porn funds. But still...

How about you point out exactly where in that video she mentions the great 'psychic boost' she got from her time in porn.

I wasn't quite sure about that point either. I tended to agree with his point about the people in the industry and the fans that helped her out while she was sick, but in the end, I saw we just let it go.
What she went through was a life examining experience. If this is where she's at in life, then I wish her the best.
What I really do have a problem is with the video is the sappy, heartstring pulling guitar music, but then I shouldn't really be surprised.
I've said what I've had to say on this.

The phrase 'psychic boost' is my phrase, not hers. Its my description of the psychological benefit she says she derived from being in porn - reclaiming an assertive sexuality so that her former abusers would not own it.

She's supposed to not be happy about the way the video was edited. You get the feeling from watching it that she didn't want to completly dis own her past. Here's what a friend of hers wrote.
1. Stephanie has always been very religious. She hasn't "converted." She was always a big believer in God and wrote a lot about her faith in Jesus even when she was still performing. I know because she'd let me read her writing.
2. She told me two things about that interview: 1) that the xxx church "selectively edited" the interview to make it sound a lot more negative toward the industry than she intended, and b) she feels she's under a lot of pressure right now to denounce her past to some degree.
She confirmed that she has mixed feelings about a lot of the things that were going on in her life "off camera," and that influenced her decisions and judgment at certain times. She confirmed that when she looks back she remembers being a lost soul who was in a lot of pain. And I will confirm, as someone who was very close to her for her final years in Adult, that she was not leading a particularly healthy or positive lifestyle. And that had a lot to do with the people around her. Stephanie is a fragile, giving soul who tries to take care of everyone, and she had a lot of people around her who were taking advantage of that and working her way too hard.
I will tell you that the "Stephanie Swift" I observed was one of the most gifted, natural performers I'd ever seen, and it was easy to tell that she loved it and got a great deal of satisfaction from it. But were there other things going on in her life that weren't so good? Yes. Did her family disown her the entire time she was in Adult, which filled her with shame, and does she very much want to make sure she keeps their love and support now? Yes. (Even though one family member still won't allow her any contact with her nieces and nephews because of her past. In fact, even when Stephanie was going through chemotherapy this family member would not "forgive" her for having been in porn and offered ZERO love and support.)
Keep in mind that the world (and many porn star's families), give a round of applause to anyone who comes out of the industry denouncing it and confessing how ashamed they are of themselves. That's what everyone wants to hear.
I asked Stephanie if there was anything I could tell fans who are asking about her and are concerned about her and she said "Yes. Tell them that I'm saying what I have to say to survive. I have to give my life over to God because God and family is all I have left."
She is struggling financially, as there is very little help for those of us in Adult who fall upon hard times or illness. It's not too hard to understand, then, why so many leave here feeling that they wasted their time.
She is currently relying on government assistance, so any help you could offer is deeply appreciated.

All due respect Silex, because a lot of people want to help, but how do we know if we do send that money to that address it is actually going to Stephanie?
As for her religious conversion, I just want her to be healthy physically and mentally. If she does end up condemning her past that would be disappointing, but at the same time her focus should be on what's best for her.

The address was given by Nica Noelle on the Sweetheart Video Forum. It's the original address where her mother was the recipient. I've mailed Stephanie but had no reply. You could try mailing Mz Noelle to be sure.

The address silex gave is the original PO Box for the Stephanie Swift Breast Cancer Care Fund.
After reading this thread, I contacted Stephanies friend and former performer Holly Hollywood to ask if the PO Box was still active. She called Stephanie last night and it is still good for anyone wanting to help. Stephanie asks that checks be made out now in her name rather than her moms.
Holly said the cancer is still in remission and Stephanie is going to school. She is just having a hard time financially.
Hope this helps.

Yes, she did.
At 1:41 in the video, she states:
"So I was under contract with Wicked from 1998 to 2004. I just got comfortable being out in L.A. and becoming someone that it didn't hurt to be, because it hurt to be the person that I was because of what happened to me when I was younger. So it's almost like I created another personality that was in complete control and didn't have those things happen so I didn't have to deal with the pain."
Let's connect the dots, shall we? Being in porn, especially under a Wicked contract, enabled her to be someone that did not experience psychic pain (emoptional anguish, if you will)and instead experience complete control, i.e. empowerment.
Apparently, Gross' people forgot to edit out that part. Bad for him, good for us.
