I think most of the girls in this industry (and society in general) lack self esteem. The only thing I don't want is a girl leaving my set feeling worse about herself than before she arrived.
However, there are exceptions to the rule. In rare occasions, a girl will cruise into the set with a list of demands and will not deliver previously agreed upon promises. They act like complete bitches.
I don't know about you, but I've had that happen to me which only put me on ballistic mode. For the next Lewd Conduct #20, there's a scene with Sophia. She came onto my set saying she has to leave in an hour and told me to hurry up. And she started to ask why we weren't hurrying to shoot, etc, etc. It was the first time I lengthened the shoot and dragged it for nearly 4 hours. I guess I could've canned the shoot but decided to play along. It gave me all the ammo I needed to have her spew jibberish on camera, dance like a retard, and crawl around in a yard full of dog shit. Then I found out she was good friend's with my wife Ariana Jollee and backed off.
It all depends. Most of the times the girls are great to work with. Only problem is that they work all the time. One shoot is the same as the next. One company is the same as the next. I prefer to get the girls to have some fun and make it seem like fun because it really does resonate in their on screen performance.

Thanks for the answer. Just so you know, I've never been anywhere near a porn set, so I have little idea of what really goes on, except for what BTS footage that ends up on a DVD, and even that is edited.

I said of a certain actress that her lack of enthusiasm made it seem like this was her 52nd fuck film, and tomorrow would be her 53rd film, it was all the same to her. And she was paired with one of the better male performers, one who has recently won a major AVN award.
I bet there would be less of this problem if there were fewer films being made. But that state of affairs is not likely to come about anytime soon.
P.S. Is the Sophia you refer to above, the one from Arizona, who's blond, medium height, maybe has implants, and who has a girl-next-door kind of look?
Yes it's Sophia from Arizona but I don't consider fake boobies which I rarely shoot to have a girl-next-door look. She's actually pretty cool but can run all over you if you give her the opportunity.
Trust me I'm from the Beach where implants abound. It's just that I've always been adverse to boob jobs unless absolutely necessary. It kills me to look at someone as originally pretty as Jaime Brooks or Soma and now see their boobs like baloons.
