Notes from the Floor & Other Stuff
This was my 20th AEE/CES. It’s hard for me to believe that a full two decades have passed since I went to my very first adult show. So much has happened since then, both in the business and out of it. As I have for the better part of the last 12 years, I’m going to write up my time on the floor in a series of posts scheduled for this week. First I’ll just throw out the notes from my scorecard. If you read one that interests you, shoot me an email and I’ll be sure to elaborate. With all the pictures, outside reports (From Savana) and interviews, I may not get to all of the notes in full detail, but I’ll focus on what you guys want to read.
-As usual, Digital Playground has the most organized, media-friendly booth on the floor. I don’t know how Adella does it, but every year, I get all the DP interviews I want out of the way in one shot. It runs almost like clockwork.
- Happy Birthday Jay Ashley & congrats on the Hall of Fame. (And for landing my dream girl.)
- Gianna Michaels is a force. She’s stunning, personable and built for pleasure. Wow.
- Digital Playground’s two new girls, Stoya and Adrianna Lynn are really impressive. Adrianna is gorgeous and Stoya is pretty hard core. “I like to hurt people” was perhaps the most surprising quote from her interview. Ouch.
- Once again the list of people I was supposed to talk to/interview was longer than the list people I actually interviewed. Apologies to B Skow, Meagan and the Shane’s World crew, Katja Kassin, Nautica Thorn, Sunny Lane, PornLaw, jessica drake (Yes, this time it is entirely my fault.) and a whole host of others. I think I really need someone to help organize my schedule. I keep missing out on all these great opportunities.
- On the other hand, I did get to meet a lot of people for the first time. I met Christian XXX, Debi Diamond, Dana DeArmond, Gianna Lynn, Paulina James and Moxxie Maddron just to name a few.
- Speaking of Moxxie, it’s always great to meet someone after a year of being on line friends and acquaintances. It is usually better though when they don’t walk up to a person next to you, have a thirty second conversation and then just bail as if you aren’t even there. Way to go there Misty or Maxie or whatever the hell your name is.
- I also met Otto Bauer for the first time. After the blowup on line a few months back I wasn’t sure what to expect. Suffice it to say, we talked things out and are 100% cool with each other. Funny how things get mixed up when people don’t talk directly to each other. That won’t be happening again. Thanks for listening Otto and thanks for hooking up that interview with Audrey.
- I also met Eon McKai for the first time. After my interview with Dana (Which was great) the alt-porn king and I had our first eye to eye. Let’s just say while some feuds get squashed and pre-conceived notions get swept away, others just keep rolling and are confirmed in a big, big way.
- Happy Birthday Tricia Devereaux. How do you manage to keep things running so smoothly at your booth and still look so fucking fantastic every year?
- Gianna was very gracious upon receiving her trophy. I was pleased by that.
- Whitney Stevens was not even in Vegas to receive her trophy. That was disappointing to say the least.
- Mike John was not in Vegas either, so his two RRCC trophies will have to be delivered later this month.
- 2008 Will be Lexington Steele’s final year as a performer. He will turn his focus to directing, mainstream and to running his company, Mercenary Pictures.
- Bridgette Monroe was on the floor, looking great. She’s ready to mount a comeback so watch out cougar fans.
- Teagan was on the floor wearing barely enough to cover her naughty parts. I’ve heard reports that she looked too thin. She was a little on the light side, but still so fucking hot that it was tough to concentrate.
- Shay Jordan still wants to be the mother of my future children. Shay, the answer is YES.
- I was unable to hand out two of the Fan Fave Awards. I couldn’t get to Bree Olson at Adam & Eve and never found Manuel Ferrara. I did give Jenna Haze her two and Jules Jordan his pair.
- Gianna got her Critic’s Choice Award and Tricia accepted John’s for Safado Berlin. The other four I still have. Mike John’s two, Whitney’s and one for Erik Everhard that wasn’t delivered because our fan girl interview/fuck never took place. Scheduling problems kept it off the table so we’ll have to do it up in the Valley soon.
- Speaking of sexy interviews…..I know you’re all wondering what happened with Hillary Scott. Did she suck my dick? I wish. Things didn’t quite work out for us. We did an interview on the floor and I have to say that my cock hasn’t been played with that much since the onset of puberty. However we didn’t quite get the job done. Apparently it is still on the table though so…..Hillary?/??
