Anybody else ever succumbed to this?

It afflicted me first on an afternoon as my girlfriend was generouslty fellating me 'all the way'. As I approached the point of no return I suddenly felt a pain shoot up the back of my head and consume my entire cranium a second later. I pushed my girlfriend away and asked her simply to 'leave' and I rationally felt that I must be having a brain haemorrhage and rolled off the bed in pain expecting, in all likelihood, to die with no realistic prospect of successful medical intervention. As it turned out she remained and said 'what have I done' and after a couple of minutes of writhing about I told her it wasn't her fault but that my head throbbed and I needed to sleep. A few hours later the head pains and neck tension released and I was back to normal .
After a repetition a couple of days later ( although without the expectation of death) I visited my doctor and he pronounced that I was the only the second case of occipital cephalgia brought on by sex he had seen in 33 years. Being an asian (Indian I believe) he wrote it down to avoid misunderstanding and he told me not to worrry it would go in a fortnight. Well, it did, but it took me a good few months before I could really let myself go during sex because every time I neared orgasm and felt that 'welling up' sensation I feared the all-consuming head pains (like a gas cannister has been released in the back of your brain followed by an hour and a half of a blue whales heart doing your blood pumping whilst you nurse a hangover) that dogged me previously.

I wonder if anybody else has experienced this or if I'm the only one on these boards??

SNP.

Yikes! I have never heard of that. Are you afraid to cum now? I would be.

Well, it took me a few months before I could fully let go but this was 3 or 4 years ago now so it is but a distant memory!

As far as I'm aware it isn't something that you should expect to recur (although there is no guarantee it won't).

Good links Lindi.

My doctor stated that, as stated in your second link, it was caused by dilation of the blood vessels ( he said starting at the back of the brain and working through).

It is noteworthy that the initial occurance occured whilst gratefully receiving oral sex rather than intercourse. Oral sex, probably due to not being able to personally control the rhythm or exact stimulation, I always find harder to orgasm from and I suspect that my blood pressure probably soars as I build fitfully toward orgasm whilst receiving 'oral pleasure'. Sometimes my head feels quite warm anyway during such a moment (a bit like standing on my head) so perhaps it is no coincidence that a BJ caused the initial incidence rather than intercourse or masturbation.

I must concur with the article when it says 'sudden, intense, explosive'. As I said before, the pain was so intense I rolled off the bed to the safety of the floor clutching my head; certainly far worse than any headache I have ever experienced otherwise. I was surprised how just how persistent the lingering throbbing and neck pains were, for an hour or two it was just as if the pain was simply as a result of the damage of the first minute or so.

So, Sir Noel, have you had to use the old classic: "Not tonight dear, I (will) have a headache?"

How did your girlfriend reacted. This must have been a strange thing for her too?

I've had a similar experience a few times, usually when fatigued. It's a sudden explosive pain at the moment of orgasm that is quite debilitating. For me it centers in the back of my neck on the left side and encompasses the rear of my left scull. It usually fades to a dull ache after a few minutes.

For me it seems like a severe muscular cramp. I have similarly experience muscle cramping in my calf when approaching orgasm, again only when fatigued.

Drew got it when he tried viagra once - though the viagra was fun he said the headache was enough to never try it again.
