I can't help but make this a thread. I've been reading a few threads on this forum and looking at a few pictures. Porn is the greatest thing I've ever discovered. It is overwhelming; it absolutely has the power to arrest my emotions and focus it. When I watch some pornstars sometimes,I can't help but thank them with all my heart for what they're doing. I think(my opinion)that what they're doing is greater than whatever money they get from it. I just shudder in fear to contemplate what would have happened had one star or another not agreed to do some of the stuff I see no matter what you give to her. I wonder what I would do? I've been an avid porn fan for over 20 years and this is the only endeavour I've been involved in for such a long time that only got better and more satisfying. I'm only loving it more. Does anyone else share this overwhelming sense of gratitude to all the girls who are a gift to the world? God!

Porn is fantasy and it is a great escape. People find this escape in many other ways too, some do it by playing video games, taking up recreational sports, or diving into some hobby that fulfills their needs. I don't share your view on the adult performers. I like seeing new people and do not care to see the same faces repeatedly. I first viewed porn as a teenager back in the early 80s and was fascinated by it. I still miss it when I go periods of weeks without viewing any new content not seen before. That happens when I cancel DVD rental memberships. You have to understand, porn is a business, the people that perform on camera do it for pay, they are not doing it to please you. They could care less about you or me. When they go out to public sites to promote their work, it is a marketing ploy. I have nothing wrong with that, take it for what it is worth. Let's see who does porn for no pay.......?

To feel that level of emotion I have to go back to the years Before Porn Existed (for me). Back when I was a spotty sex obsessed teenager - this is before the internet, when the only way you could see a naked woman was by buying a porn magazine, and you obviously had to be 18 to do that (or at least look vaguely 18). I remember that feeling of rapture when I first managed to get my hands on the stuff - and the same with proper hardcore porn videos (as opposed to all the censored gubbins which was all that was available when I was younger). Yes - we should be thankful that we can see the most beautiful women doing the most perverted things for our pleasure - things we'd probably never see in real life - but it's easy to get complacent when you've been surrounded by it for years. It is refreshing to hear someone express thankfulness for those who perform for our pleasure. One eulogy for Den, spoke about the sparkle in his eye, when he was attending porn conventions. Whether it is discovering a someone new, or enjoying the beauty and/or performance of a favorite, I thank ALL of them for sharing their bodies with us. I'm very thankful that it exists. Porn is great. I can't admit to being quite as overwhelmingly enamoured as you, but can definitely see where you're coming from. In terms of enthusiasm, if you're a "10", then I'm about a "6.5" (or "7" on a good day).

It's good to see this level of excitement. I'm sometimes there. I've been sort of sweet and sour on porn this year. Or hot and cold. It's me, not the porn.
I definitely don't share your overwhelming sense of gratitude. They go to a set, hang around for a while, take a dick or two and get paid. I don't think they deserve or want my gratitude. ^I genuinely think you're missing the larger picture. It's not about personal worship of the women themselves (I for one, am not a star-struck teenager or a creepy sycophant), it's the simple realisation that in some aspects, we are privaledged in being able to view what we are. We are lucky in many ways, that we live in an age where sexual gratification (which is one of life's TRUE pleasures), can be achieved and enjoyed, even if one isn't lucky enough to have a partner... Now, there's varying thought as to how much porn may contribute to the continued absence of partners in the viewers' lives (as it's so readily available, it's easier to watch than actually getting out there and getting the real thing), but let's not underestimate how, when managed, it has the ability to enhance and provide enjoyment as a pastime in many people's lives, both if one is single or often, in a relationship. Think about what it would be like if porn was banned outright across Western society... What would that be like...? FUCKING AWFUL, that's what it would be like! Yet, there is a strong, controlling, puritanical mindset prevalent across our lands that strive for just that. I live in the U.K... Hardcore porn has only been legal in sex shops FOR LESS THAN 10 YEARS!!! The governing attitudes towards sex and censorship in society and the media in particular, has been bewilderingly backward, nonsensical and alarmingly hypocritical (epitomised by piece-of-shit rags like The Daily Mail that crusades against anything it deems morally impure - porn, certain music etc., but uses every opportunity to run a titillating story/picture to, y'know, sell papers). It's sickening. There are still plans to marginalise it, just when it seemed that there was some kind of progress... all one step forward, two steps back. Taking enjoyment in one of the all-to-rare nicer aspects of life, should be celebrated. The freedoms we have, which at times seem few and far between, should be acknowledged and reveled in. That addresses porn itself as an entity. That alone is something to be happy about. If you were to take the girls who participate, that's another story... If I were to go back in time, and showed some footage/images of girls like Tera Patrick, Julia Paes, Simony Diamond, Suzie Carina and Sylvia Saint (to name a few), to my 15 year old self, with the information that each of them weren't in fact, mainstream supermodels, but actual pornstars that took off all their clothes and fucked every-which-way in front of camera, I'd have had needed a car-jack to pull my mouth from the floor. Any of them, I'd almost guarantee, could have had solid mainstream success/earnings as models, yet somehow, we've seen them do things we'd lust over and dream about if we were to see them in any other context. I count myself lucky to have been in a position to enjoy such sights. It's profound human suckiness that we become blasé to some actually quite amazing things. It's not about arse-kissing, hero worship, currying favour with the performers as people (they are of course, strangers in a job), or mother-fucking Amazon Wishlists (fuck that whole thing.) It's about stepping back, and realising once in a while, that something is good when you see it.

Oh, and furthermore, I think it adds a bit of colour on here to have someone a bit chipper about their porn habit... Most of the time it's fools berating a girl on I.R., or saying bullshit like, "Well if she doesn't do anal, I'm not interested!" or moaning that girls don't find them attractive. It's kinda nice to see someone not quite so down, on the main reason we all came here and made accounts in the first place.
My sentiments exactly. Beautiful women are the greatest gift to men. I'm astounded the number of beautiful women that actually do hardcore. Well, as far as I'm concerned, in most cases the "bizarre reason" is the "chump" factor. Yes, of course everyone has the right to spend their money as they see fit, but my natural response to the whole fans-buying-gifts-for-pornstars-off-of-wishlists thing is, "Silly boy... there's some worthwhile charities out there that need your gift support more than they do... She's not going to fall in love with you from it... Support her more by buying the Blu-Rays/DVDs she actually appears in; that's the genuine pornstar/fan relationship"... That's just my natural emotional response towards it. I've heard one or two exceptional cases, where the act had a greater sense of dignity on behalf of the guy, but generally, I would say it's at the point where a fan's genuine appreciation of a performer/celebrity gets a little out of focus and into some next-level territory. I am happy for the OP and others who express similar sentiments. As for me I'm not so gushy. The girls are great, I truly appreciate the beauty, sexiness, skills, talents, and depravity they demonstrate for our entertainment (and for the money of course). But in spite of that, porn is getting worse. The people behind the camera are getting worse, there is very little discernibile skill or professionalism or quality-mindedness to be found. Add to that the trend toward gonzo+POV+closeup combination being the prevalent shooting style. Great girls, great performances ruined by lousy capturing and presentation on screen. Consider yourself lucky of you don't notice it or can ignore it.
Most charities are probably in cahoots with unsavory political groups and/or characters. I wouldn't give them money if I had money to burn. At least porn stars are just out for themselves (I think). I for one am amazed at the access we have to the "stars" of today’s porn. I remember 70's and 80's porn. I may have seen the same girl in a few layouts but never knew their names and it was pot luck to run across them again. Then the "video review" mags came out and I was able to see stills of the "stars" in action. So I knew some names at least. Today, You have access to EVERYTHING! It’s really overwhelming at times. I have trouble believing there are guys in the world who don't watch porn. Considering the availability, cheapness and anonymity (in the modern age), you'd have thought the lure would just be impossible to resist.
