Madison Riley Jenna Alexis Ashley/Ashlee/Ashli/Ashleigh Lexi/Lexi/Lexxxi Also goes for the last names: Hayes/Haze Taylor Love/Luv Fox/Foxx just too many.
I'm with you guys. Also: Last names - Lee/Leigh/Lea, Lynn/Lin First name - Ginger And don't choose a single name as your porn name, unless it's really original like Stoya. If you choose "Jenny" and that's it as your porn name, you deserve to not get any fans.

Also, all the McKenzies and MacKenzies need to get together and decide how to spell their name.
LOL! This thread is entertaining....and oh, so true! Thanks for the laugh, killbill! I was just reminded of one of the worst porn star names in history (in my opinion)...."Cortknee". A single name, with a surreal variant of the traditional spelling! Truly creative and inexorably sophisticated... Oops! I just looked her name up on IAFD, and apparently it is two words-"Cort Knee". That makes so much more sense!
The only names I'd really care to eliminate are the ones that are difficult to Google. When I like a performer I want to be able to find her scenes, and I'd have thought that she'd want them to be found. Any performer should stick her prospective porn name into a search engine and see what results come up. If I want to find porn featuring Madison James, for example, I don't want to have to dig through dozens of sites about America's fourth president...
^Definitely. All potential names should be put through the "google test", to see if a) any other girl already uses it, and b) if it already comes up in some other capacity. If the answer is "yes" to a or b, you gotta pick another one sweetie. Actually this reminds me of a time when I was on a music forum and a guy was complaining about how hard it was to find info on a band called Sex Positions, and someone else said "That's nothing, try finding info on the band Anal Cunt!" Britney/Brittney/Brittany/Brittaney should go too.

I hear you. I always have to make sure that my first and last name are always printed. Otherwise how the heck can someone find me. Never knew just how many Alexis' there were until just recently. sheesh
Cant decide how to spell our names lol... How would you feel if you got to name urself! It gives you a whole new way to be creative :) Ya but really, I thought spelling my name a lil different would seperate my name from the other MckenzIEs out there and people would be able to find me easier. In the end it just got misspelled all the time and I was told that me 'choosing the unusual spelling was a prime example of why porn chicks need management' hahaha Alright I learned my lesson

I agree, I have a hard enough time tracking some of these girls down. Lexie Leigh/ Lexi Leigh/ Lexi.... frustrating.
how about daisy marie lichelle marie phoenix marie lisa marie ann marie kenzi marie claudia marie sheila marie madelyn marie and i know i missed a bunch.......good god
and for god sake before you choose your name try to do some research on the name so when pervs such as myself try to google your name it don't shoot me to an author of childrens books lol
I never realized how many use the name "Marie" in some variation or another in porn until you brought your list up. iAFD shows 13 different girls with just the name "Marie" and then there are all the rest. Marie-Ange Marie-Anne Marie Anne Marie-Christine Marie-Claire Marie-Claude Rose Marie Oh man way to many to even begin to list. Here is the link http://www.iafd.com/results.asp?searchtype=name&searchstring=Marie
Like that episode of "Spin City" when the staff guy was about to meet the girls from the adult entertainment industry, who he knew by sight: "Amber.... Tiffany... Tiffany... Amber... Tiffany"
None of this bothers me with the exception of someone ripping off a truly original name, like that 2nd Teagan. I'm much more bothered by someone going by a single moniker that makes them hard to look up. Edited by - jrsl76 on 1/12/2009 1:16:02 AM

Sometimes it just doesn't work out like that. I was too busy fucking to really sit down and research it. tee hee hee. Plus, I never imagined when I started all this that I would end up where I am today. I wonder how many female performers even watch porn to know who's who. Maybe that should be an industry poll.
^Seriously. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you guys to keep track of all the different spellings the same girl will use throughout her career (either because she changes it, or because the person making the box cover can't spell).
^ Bill, you ought to see how frequently the girls get three different credits, even four, in the same movie! Seriously: box cover, title credit, end credit and beginning-of-scene credit -- and they're all spelled differently This was more common with VHS Era tapes, especially 1997 to 2003, or so.
Hey Veronica, Looking back it's obvious you gave it some serious thought. I believe it's the piggyyback syndrome where they think it's going to give them an edge if it's similar to an existing star. Like a clone or something. It's not a real problem with me but I think a lot of new girls might be losing traffic instead of gaining for the very reasons you mentioned in your post.

i wouldnt call it serious thought, but i for sure took some time to do my research. its all about critical thinking people... porn is about creativity and creating an alter-ego (for some girls). why not be creative, why not let porn be your outlet? i guess some people do not have the brains for it.

Bo one seems to be using Smith or Jones as a last name.
It says "34B", not "D". Did you misread it as "D", or did you mistype it as "D"? [edit: Clam Digger, you forgot about new g/g cutie Georgia Jones!] Edited by - killbillvol69 on 1/26/2009 12:25:23 PM

^well there does seem to be only one....how about some dead presidents? Jefferson (for the IR fans), McKinley....is Hover taken? Sounds like a BJ series in the making...
Anything that a person of average intelligence could reasonably misspell or spell differently is a bad idea. Let's take Sarah Vandella/Sloane as an example. While "Vandella" is good because its not likely to be misspelled, "Sarah" could also be "Sara," and "Sloane" could be "Sloan." Anything that could or does end in a silent "h" or "e" is a bad choice, as is anything that ends in a long "e" sound": "ee," "e", "ey," "y", "i", "ie." Anything that could end in multiples of the same letter -- "Roxxxxxxxxxxx," "Ashlyn/nn" is also a little more difficult to look up. "Veronica" is a good first name, because the variant "Veronika" is rare; but "Veronika" isn't a good name, because most people would spell it "Veronica." Same with "Monica" and "Monica" (I think Miss Sweetheart gave up on the less-common spelling fairly early in her career.) Common first names ("Amber") are okay if they're in a unique pair with a last name ("Simpson," "Swift"). Great porn names -- not easily confused with another performer or spelled differently - currently on my hard disk: Avy Scott Inari Vachs Hunter Young Amber Simpson Madison Parker Tanner Mayes Victoria White Tessa Taylor Amia Moretti Lena Nicole Tweety Valentine (yeah, it's silly sounding, but it meets the criteria) That's it for now; gotta go.
