| greybeard Member 181 Posts 8/00 | Drew Black is correct. If, indeed, since the Wanderer has brought up an excellent question, the All American Girls series you refer to _is_ the one from back in the 80s, we all want to know if it will be left intact for the DVD, or if certain scenes and/or performances will be edited out or altered to fit the current political environment of "prior restraint" (meaning, "edit the risky stuff out for fear of being prosecuted, whether or not it may be legally obscene, but, then, who knows what obscene really means, so let's play it safe!"). Anyhoo, if it's _not_ the original, '80s Caballero stuff, please let us know that, too. Black Coffee: |
| The Wanderer All-Star Member 192 Posts 6/00 | Is Society Affairs a recent release? If so, this could bode well for the future. I remember someone from Five Star saying here that he contacted Caballero regarding customer criticism of their DVDs. They eventually promised to remaster the early Andrew Blake titles and this was announced in another thread. Perhaps Five Star's comments finally had the desired effect. Now I'm tempted to order the recent release Desires Within Young Girls and at $10 it's probably worth the risk. As much as I'd like to ignore Caballero, they own the rights to so many great titles it's proving impossible to do so. |
| Black Coffee Member 128 Posts 3/01 | FYI: My front cover is light blue and says 'Harry Reems' in red. The title 'Society Affairs' is also in red and is the same size as Harry Reems' name but towards the bottom. I believe the old cover had the title written in green. | greybeard Member 181 Posts 8/00 | Regarding Desires Within Young Girls , check the running time of the DVD carefully. The original picture had some content regarding "teenage girls," a light B&D-themed scene involving Annette Haven, and another scene with Jon Martin, Abigail Clayton and another girl where the girls were depicted as "very young." My old VHS copy runs 97 minutes, and, I believe, is missing the scene with John Seeman as a limo driver doing it on the hood with Annette Haven. IAFD gives the complete running time as 103 minutes, so beware the nefarious Edit Monster! |
| The Wanderer All-Star Member 192 Posts 6/00 | greybeard - I was unable to confirm the running time of the Desires Within Young Girls DVD so, in view of the type of content you mentioned, I will probably wait until a review appears before buying it. Alpha Blue Archives and Excalibur are both quoting the VHS running time as 97 minutes, the same as your tape. I don't recall ever seeing the Annette Haven/chauffeur sequence. I certainly remember a still picture depicting the encounter, but I thought it was a posed publicity shot rather than an actual scene from the movie. |

| greybeard Member 181 Posts 8/00 | The IAFD entry for the film lists the Annette Haven/John Seeman scene as the second in the film, I believe. It occurs after Seeman has picked up Haven and Claire Dia, to "bring them home from boarding school" after their father has died (screwed to death by Georgina Spelvin -- what a way to go!). |

| greybeard Member 181 Posts 8/00 | The IAFD listing contradiction is probably a function of the person or people who wrote the entries, when they wrote them and which version they saw. Someone who saw the original would list Seeman with Haven in a sex scene, where someone who watched a later version (after the scene was cut), would have seen Seeman in his role as the driver, but not in any of the sex scenes, hence a non-sex listing. Getting reliable, accurate info on early porn is a real headache -- there's a lot of missing and/or inaccurate information out there -- so it's really a matter of whom you trust. The IAFD is about as good as it gets (unless you have a direct link inside the brain and memory of Jim Holliday), but their entries are only as good as the people providing them and the information they have at hand. | Saki At-Large 2087 Posts 11/99 | AdultMovieFAQ can probably explain this better, but my understanding is that another reason why there's not a number of contributors to the database (or even an open contribution mechanism like IMDb) is precisely because there is no way to easily verify the accuracy of data that's submitted. So IAFD takes primary responsibility in adding the data and then accepts corrections on a case-by-case basis. - Saki |

| ImageKat Member 26 Posts 12/00 | The series is the All American Girls from Caballero, these titles are bought, licensed etc...and Adam and Eve have them for issue on DVD. I'm looking at the original posters from the VHS release and they were from Caballero. As for the editing of the movie, I don't know yet, I have not seen the original, or the revised Beta Masters. Titles are Oriental Jade, Delicious, Heartthrobs All American Girls 1 and 2 Up Up and Away, There is supposed to be 3 titles of 2 movies each, but again a couple of months away...... I hope we will be able to get a good transfer off the masters, but time will tell...I just promise we will do the best we can. Thanks all, |
