Being laid off Internet folks, we're brand spankin' new to the adult biz, so the posts in this forum have been a real eye-opener for us. The first thing we figured out when we started is that you can't have everything in stock all the time, which raises the whole "backorder-in stock" issue. Here's how we handle it -- let me know what you think: the day we get an order, we ship whatever of that order we have in-house, and we charge the credit card only for that amount. Then we send an email explaining that some stuff is backordered and it will be shipped and billed separately. When we get the backordered items in stock, we ship for free and bill only for the amount of the DVD. The idea is that the customer should get whatever we have immediately, and not have to pay extra shipping when the backordered stuff does arrive. Comments? We need all the input we can get ... :>

It's very unattractive. Spice it up a bit! Your gay selection is incredibly small. Only 20 titles? I have to wonder when I see stores with such a small gay selection... how did you choose those 20 titles? None of them are relatively new, and there are only a few there that are particularly good. We are working on integrating our database with the site such that real-time inventory status will show for each title, so you are right on there. And ... the gay category is certainly a weakness right now. And ... I have forwarded your comments about the banner to our Art guy. Mostly I appreciate getting feedback from someone in the biz. I've only had to deal with back orders maybe twice,and thats baically how it was handled. what would have made the wait a little easier is if they could have told me aproximatly when the order would be shipped in the email. I only use ADT when i purchase my dvds, so I can get the best prices and make sure my titles are in stock. but I will surf other sites and here are a few sugestions after i browsed yours.add in stock updates, use brighter colors their more appealing to the eye(lose the black),and best sellers by studio is a nice feature. I noticed that your prices are fair so theirs maybe 2 more things. Add Jake Steed prod. and West Coast prod. to your studio search, and join ADT. just a few suggestions. good luck, peace [Link] |
