I know a lot of guys say this, but I am not talking starting a company or an adult website. I am talking about making just one 2-3 hour length movie. Shit, I am not even talking about making money here. Let me explain: I am a fan of porn. I watch and buy tons of pornography. There are so many occasions where I say, "well if I was directing, I would have done x and y..." well, I figure my day of reckoning will come. I have saved up around 10,000 to make this dream happen. I estimate that I will need at least 10,000 more to make it happen. I am not a baller, I work a 9-5, this will take some time (years) to save up. I want A-List talent, both on the male and female side. I want a good makeup artist (I actually need to start researching these), good lighting, I have been thinking that i would even incorporate a light plot that I wrote into it. Nothing crazy. I wouldn't make money off of the porn. I would probably just setup a website and distribute it for free. I am doing it for the "love." Haha! Setting up the website and paying for the bandwidth will cost money. Another expense. My question is, when I do have the money saved up, am I just going to get the shit swindled out of me? I mean, I can call/e-mail ATMLA or Spieglers Girls, but will they even take me seriously? I think the first thing I'd need to do is hire someone to executive produce the porno and help me figure out all of the shit that I don't know. Act as kind of an advisor. Like I said, this is on the bucket list... but it WILL happen. I was looking at my "Make A Porno" fund the other day. Seeing how much it has grown to made me realize that this is a thing that will eventually happen. Whoa! So what do you guys think? Am I stupid? Going about this all wrong? Any porn people reading the forum that can give me some advice? Volunteer helping me out. I think I probably should make this a documentary of some sort, haha. [Link] |

I'm surely no expert but perhaps a few avenues you can explore: - Production & Technical Team. Consider making use of small video companies or those involved in advertising works. - Cast. I don't think you'll be able to recruit some top performing stars with your budget cause that'll be too costly. Consider some girls who are new to the business or are struggling to get themselves casted by the big studios or escort girls. Perhaps you may consider shooting in the eastern euro countries where there are lots of girls available & who are not too expensive (though language might be a problem, but translators are available). - Try tweeting or messaging guys involved in the business to get their advice (if they are willing to). Whether anyone would be remotely interested in working with you in this way, I have no idea. The suggestion of going to AEE and talking to anyone who will listen is a good one. [Link] |

Another thing you can try is, you know that a whole lot of porn stars also do escorting as a side business. Many of them allow you to do many things, e.g. filming & having your personal video (at a premium price). You can try this option just to get a first experience at shooting a scene with a girl.
