I've been looking for good site to rent adult DVDs from. I used to rent from Excalibur, but they never had 75% of the titles they claimed to have, so I'm looking for someone else with a good selection of DVDs available.

I'd prefer something where I pay by the video rather than something like Netflix where I pay a flat monthly fee.

Let me know,
Peter

If you're on the left coast area meaning towards CA then I'd definitely go with XRent as they've got a great selection though I think you need to rent at least two titles at a time but the prices are very reasonable and you've got several shipping options to choose from. If you're on the other coast meaning Eastern then I'm not sure but Adultdvdempire rents I think so perhaps check out their site. I've really enjoyed XRent and can't recommend them enough.

X-rent =
Preferred Light $14.99 - 2 DVDs at a time, 5 max per month
Preferred Standard $24.99 - 3 DVDs at a time, no monthly limit
Preferred Plus $35.99 - 5 DVDs at a time, no monthly limit
Preferred Ultimate $49.99 - 8 DVDs at a time, no monthly limit

Adultvdvempire =
Silver $15.95 - 2 DVDs at a time
Gold $21.95 - 3 DVDs at a time
Platinum $25.95 - 4 DVDs at a time
Diamond $42.95 - 8 DVDs at a time

I too am looking for a place to rent online. I have noticed adultmarketplace...seems to have the best prices you want to buy dvd though.

I live in the Eastern half of this fine country and have rented from DVD Empire for the past two years.

I has a huge title database, the best and easiest searchability, and quick delivery time. They also have fantastic customer service with quick response time using email or and 888#.

However, I have three principal complaints about their service. First, as more and more titles are being released as two-disc sets, you get one of two options - either rent the first DVD only OR not be allowed to rent the title. It is not your decision - it is theirs. So as the "award"-worthy new titles come out, your choice as a renter is to buy it or don't see it.

The second complaint I have has to do with the availability of the fringe market. DVD Empire jumped aboard by disowning JM Productions with their most recent legal issues (even removing titles that were once rentable and not on point in the lawsuit). I do not know what their policy is on new-fetish, controversial stuff, and would love to hear from them about this. I do know that there are many companies that feature many of the stars in their early action that is simply not available through DVD Empire.

The third complaint I have has to do with their processing time. I frequently receive delivery of my selection the day after it was sent. However, It almost ALWAYS takes up to one week after I mail my DVD back for it to appear as a return (and trigger another rental). I've suspected it is in the best interest of the rental company to keep the number of rentals down and of course, I have no proof that anything illegal or suspect is going on. Yet, one day vs one week - the same delivery system (US Postal Service - I drop mine off at the post office and live only one state away from the delivery address), the same distance to and from, but a consistant six to eight day difference in turn-around??????????????????????????????????????

On the whole, I remain a client, but to be honest, I have been looking around. I'd like the opportunity to see the second fashionistas before committing $30 -$40 on it. I'd love to see the Carmen Luvano Story of O, and all the lastest Jules Jordan Videos, and Disc 2 of Jenna Haze Dark Side, etc.,

The prices (and there are discounts for ccustomers who stay on month after month (i.e - I think I pay $34.95 a month for the 8 DVD membership)
• Over 40,000 Titles / No Late Fees / Free Shipping
• 2 DVDs out at a time for $15.95 a month
• 3 DVDs out at a time for $21.95 a month
• 4 DVDs out at a time for $25.95 a month
• 8 DVDs out at a time for $42.95 a month

Bono, we appreciate the high praise that you are offering XRentDVD. Keeping our customers happy is our No. 1 goal.

I did want to clarify one thing regarding your post. If you want to rent adult DVDs on a weekly basis, you do not need to rent two discs at a time. That policy was in place a while back but it has been abandoned since. You can rent a single disc for a week and there is no obligation to pay a monthly subscription fee. Makes it pretty easy for those that want to watch a porn but are not committed to getting new DVDs every month. Think of it as ala Cart porn rental.

Thanks again for the kind words.

pwerner: Adult DVD Empire has an A La Carte Program where you can rent a single item for 4.99 for 15 business days.

Bigfoot: Regarding our fringe market items, we have fully reviewed every movie scene of all items available on our site and we have consulted with legal experts on what we can and cannot sell. We do not sell/rent any items that
is, or could become legally questionable in the future, even if they are not currently banned items. I am not aware of any other rental site that has as large of a rental catalog as Adult DVD Empire. We currently have over 40,000 items in the rental program and we add new items every business day.

Regarding processing times, every returned rental item is scanned into our system the day that it arrives. If we get back your rental item and your rental plan is active, we will ship out your next item that same day. We do not hold or "throttle" accounts or returned items.

Differences in US Postal service shipping hubs have a significant affect on shipping times. If you are not located close to a shipping hub it will affect your shipping time. This can be attributed to the path that an item takes to a location. It is often a different path from us to a customer than in the return route from the customer to us. You mentioned that it almost always takes a week for items to come back to us, so this would lead me to believe that the route is the issue, since the shipping time is consistent.

It is not uncommon for multiple items that are shipped back to us on the same day to arrive a day or two apart. Unfortunately there is not much that we can do regarding
US Postal service shipping times except increasing our number of shipping hubs, which which we will be doing.

I'm glad this has been mentioned. Many times that 2nd disc only contains 1 or 2 scenes and then all of the extras. Sometimes not worth using a rental for........It would be nice if the 2 disc sets were all part of one rental. When you rent movies at Blockbuster that are released as 2 DVD sets, you get both discs.

Not a complaint, just a suggestion.

We are currently investigating the logistics of 2 disc items becoming available for adultdvdempire rentals.

I cannot guarantee that 2 disc items will be made available, but we will follow up on this suggestion to see if it is feasible.

Thanks for everyone's input. We are always open to suggestions for improving our service.

I to have started expirencing delays with Adult DvD Empire this month. First month was great, It took only 1 to 2 days to arrive. And always checked back in within 3 to 4 days after mailing them back in. So I figured it was going so great I upgraded my account to the four at a time deal. And soon as my second month started everything went to hell on shipping times. I thought maybe the I would get more than I did last month.

So far since the 28th of last month. I have recieved only 2 DvD's. One was said to have been shipped 6 days ago still haven't seen it. The other two was shipped back about six days ago and hasn't been checked back in. Maybe USPS just had an increase in shipping due to the upcoming holidays not sure. I'm Not trying to put any blame on the company. Just wandering if anyone this month is seeing any these type problems with there mailings? But it still early in the month so I'm hopeing it will improve to the way it was.

On another note I would love to see the 2 disc dvd's added to the Adult DvD Empire as more, and more studios are starting to release these. Also you should buy more New Release's to rent out. They always seem to be checked out as soon as there released and they don't ever seem to come back into rental stock.

JKG, Bigfoot or anyone else with a shipping time issue: Send me (or our customer service) an email stating your account username and we can investigate any shipping time problems, or inconsistancies that you experience.

Regarding new release purchases, we buy new items based on how many customers have the item in their rental queue. Just because an item is listed as "out to customers" does not mean that it will be out for long. (Don't let the out to customers status keep you from adding it to your rental queue) We bring in new inventory all the time to meet changing demands for an item, so if it's in your queue we know that there is a demand for the item.

As for 2-disc items, we have looked into this and we will be bringing 2-disc items into the adultdvdempire.com rental program. You've heard it here first! I don't have a specific date that the 2-discs will be available, but we are working on this update.

Bigfoot: Please send me an email.

Any other questions or input is welcome.

I've been a customer of X-Rent for several years, but I think I'm gonna kick them to the curb. The main reason is the turnaround time. It consistently takes longer and longer (both directions) for my DVD's to get to the Midwest--much longer than my other experiences with 1st Class mail. I currently have a 3 Disc membership for $24.99. Secondly, I can get a 4 disc membership with a few other companies for $1 more. Also, it seemes that half of the titles I really want to see are 'out' at any given time. Their selection has always been decent, but I have had troubles getting certain late `90's favorites, etc...

I'm now looking at BushDVD; they have 4 disc membership for $25.95, decent website and selection for my preferences (I think), and they happen to have Platinum Media(Pixie), a Pro/Am company I've found with some great amateur stuff. They also feature the 'Rapid Return' feature, where you simply indicate on their site when you drop them in the mail and they ship your next title out in 2 days (or sooner if your return arrives). That's their selling point to me, but I'm anxious to hear others' experiences with them.

Based on this thread, I'm now considering Adult DVD Empire as well. Two disc sets together sounds good, and I think they may have a better selection, although it looks like a big part of their '40,000 selections' are features and Vivid comps that I'm not interested in anyhow. I did a few typical searches for me for new stars and all three sites had about the same number of titles.

Sophia Lynn- X-Rent 5, Bush 4, ADE 2

Lela Star- X-Rent 21, Bush 18, ADE 20

Allison Pierce- X-Rent 17, Bush 17, ADE 16

Amy Ried X-Rent 61, Bush 0, ADE 66 ????

Amy Reid X-Rent 0, Bush 48, ADE 5 ????

Is X-Rent pretty much the only choice for a la carte?

I've not been overly sastified lately, not totally unhappy either, and I at least wanted to try something different.

Someone mentioned dvdempire, but I've checked almost every title that I can think of and it says NO for a la carte. Odd for the company that seems to be the biggest.

X-Rent is good at putting future releases out there to be put in a wishlist for a la carte use. This can't be done with any of the packages.

So does anyone else provide this and, if not, why? You'd think there would be 1 company that would want to try and compete.

Thanks.

After reading this thread, I have signed up for BushDVD and their 2 at a time 14.95 month plan. Their selection is great, but almost ALL of the titles have a short wait on them, probably due to the rapid return policy. I will update more in the future.

I've been with Bush for over a year now and have no complaints. Even being on the East Coast, the turnaround time is reasonable, and the rapid return system really helps especially this time of year when everything in the USPS gets jammed up.

Dr. McDreamy:

Adultdvdempire.com is in the process of updating the a la carte program so that every item available for rentals, will also be available for a la carte.

I've only rented from XRent so I can't comment on other businesses. And I only rent ala carte. I hate memberships.

All I can say is I'm very happy with XRent and they haven't given me a reason to take my business elsewhere. Excellent customer service, the best web site navigation, and ultra fast processing.

I've also tried Excalibur and was turned off by nothing ever being available for rent. Right now I'm signed up with both Adultdvdempire and Bushdvd. I'm dropping Adultdvdempire. Why?

They have a great selection but SLOW turnaround (I am on the West Coast). I've heard turnarond complaints from others on the West Coast but figured it couldn't be that bad. I was wrong.

-Total of DVDs received between joining (9/30/2006) and today (12/10/2006): 21 (completely unacceptable for someone on the four disc plan considering I always return my DVDs within a couple of days.)

Bushdvd's turnaround is great. I highly recommend them, especially if you're on the West Coast.

I had Bush DVD for awhile, but I found their selection lacking. For example, they do not carry 5th Element titles.

I've very satisfied with XRent DVD. Even being on the East Coast, I usually get titles in no more than 3 days.

I think it's more personal 2.) constructive critcsm, yes I really want to know what I can do to get better 3.) I do a weekly letter with release dates, contests and a Q & A 4.) I just want to make sure those who support me really matter and mean something to me.

sugardvd has been great. In about 3 weeks, have gotten about 12 dvds on six at a time plan. Plus 4 during free trial which was 2 at a time. Expecting to get about 20 over a month. 1 week turnaround time on the east coast here.

Very few titles are listed as being checked out which is much better than I saw with wantedlist or bushdvd. Highly recommend them and I'll likely be back after taking a break for winter break.

cambo, I am not sure where they ship from...the return address says California. However on their site it says they have multiple shipping centers. (They claim to be the only site to have more than one, but I am pretty sure some of the others have multiple centers). Anyway I think I am receiving them 3 days after they list them as having been shipped. They have a great shipping status page listing what you have out and what has been mailed. Lists the dates etc and when they are received back. I am getting a week turnaround time, meaning they shipped a disk on December 6th, got to me around the 9th, I return it the 10th and gets back to them the 13th. 7 days. Not bad...probably could be better depending on where you are. I know ADE is in PA so it could be 2 days to me instead of 3. Wantedlist when they were good took 2 days but then started to suck because I think the throttle. No evidence of that so far from sugar.

All in all I'm happy. Their selection is good, not as good as ADE but better than bush and about the same as wantedlist. However their availability is much better than wantedlist. Only a few titles on my list have been listed as checked out. Wantedlist had more problems here esp. since I get bigger titles with bigger names not these more gonzo type with no name ppl.

4.5 stars (out of 5) for sugardvd.

Lordish,

We here at XRentDVD appreciate the information that you posted about our website but I did want to make some clarifications.

In regards to our Preffered membership and New Releases, our policy changed quite some time ago. New Releases ARE available to be added to a person's Preferred account. The policy of having to wait 30 days from the title's release date has been discontinued and all new releases are available to our subscription customers from the day they are released. (The only exception are premium titles that are typically priced $5 or higher. Those titles are placed in the Preferred system after typically 30 days.)

Also, concerning our DVDs being priced at $3.99, we currently offer 16,183 titles at this price level. As studios have increased their production values, there is an increasing amount of these Premium, Double Disc or specialty DVDs that are being released. These DVDs usually do rent for a higher price of either $4.99 or $5.99, but we do continue to receive and add to the website an abundant amount of DVDs priced at $3.99 and below. Using the Advanced Search option on our website helps to locate all of these titles priced $3.99 and below.

Thanks for your continued patronage of XRentDVD and hopefully these policy changes you might not be aware of will enhance your renting experience with us.

Hey guys,

3-4 weeks into my subscription with BushDVD and I really can't complain. Any movie that has a "short wait" on it is usually available in 1-2 days. The selection is great and new titles are added everyday.

It's been about a year since I left Bush and I have to say that I miss the selection, but at the time of my departure they were having service issues that they didn't have a solid solution for. To their credit, behind the scenes they went the extra mile to satisfy me, but at the cost of my membership.

Excalibur was the 1st choice I had for online rentals. There catalog was far and away the best I had ever seen. Turn around were almost always 10 days and I was no more than 2-3 days away by mail, so that told me that they had issues. When I contacted customer service, they were nothing short of nasty (not the good kind). I left and never looked back.

Sugar hands down had the best service I've ever experiences. These guys truly know how to run a business. I think Bush's catalog has Sugar licked, but the service and turnaround at Sugar was at least twice as good.

I also tried goflix and their turn around was horrible. They sat on titles for days and blames slow service on the fact that they are East Coast. East Coast or not the best way to have a fast turn around is to make a 3 day in house turnaround same day. Even though they are opening a West Coast facility, I woudn't try them again.

Now I'm using climaxflix. Their selection is not anywhere near as robust as the others, but the turns are the fastest I've seen. So far if I return a title on Tuesday, they are shipping me new titles Wednesday. It appears that they may be new, so I would assume that their catalog will increase, but I would recomend them highly.

I also tried X Rent because so many hear praise them. The catalog was good, but I did experience slow turn around and canceled after a month.

Currently I use BushDVD. I did cancel with them initially due to service issues I had with them personally but recently rejoined and have been very happy thus far.

I joined XRent after I initially cancelled my BushDVD account and while their selection is the best of any rental sites, the turnaround was slow, so I lowered my plan to the 2 at a time(max 5) and still use them for titles Bush does not have - mainly Sineplex.

I joined SugarDVD and I agree with Pocketcomb_Pimp, they have the best customer service hands down, and their turn around is very good too. Ultimately though I cancelled because their selection is not as vast as BushDVD or XRent.

If the selection does not improve at Sugar I'll most likely leave them again. If they only knew that selection was holding them back they might step up and improve the process.

Since my last post in this thread, I have signed up for BushDVD's 4 disc plan. For the time being, I have kept my X-Rent 3 disc account open. The turnaround for BushDVD is twice as fast as X-Rent's, due to the 'Rapid Return' feature. Here is a perfect example:

On Saturday night, Dec 23rd, I dropped my 4 BushDVD returns and my 3 X-Rent returns in the same box at the post office, and I marked my titles as 'returned' on the BUSHDVD site. On Dec 26th, my next 4 Bush titles were shipped (25th was a holiday). Today (12/29), my titles arrived from Bush, and X-Rent still says they haven't received my returns. Also, the way 'Rapid Return' works, as soon as my discs are actually received at Bush, the 'Rapid Return' option is available for the next titles shipped, and today, they showed my titles received and I can already mark my new titles as returned.

This example included a holiday weekend during holiday postal conditions, but both companies had these same conditions. The Bush titles arrived 3 days after shipped (I'm in the Midwest), but it is usually 2 days from when they ship or I return until they are actually received. The fact is, 1st Class mail with printed addresses that can be scanned usually take 1-3 days to arrive anywhere in the country, not a week like X-Rent pretends. I will probably cancel my membership with X-Rent soon, and maybe just use them a la carte for titles I can't get elsewhere. From what I have read about BushDVD's progress, I would bet their availablity and selection will continue to improve as they grow.

The message to all online rental plans is that turnaround is how you will get and keep customers. X-Rent is losing a 3 year customer due to just that.

Also, if I have waited over a week for a title and I inform you it arrived damaged, why would you wait until you receive the damaged disc back before shipping my next title?

This is the most interesting thread I've seen here since I joined. It's even better than being able to "chat" back and forth with Penny Flame.

First, I have nothing to do with the business, know very little about it, and have never met anyone in it.

Xrent offers a la carte, therefore, I can't see how any other company can be put above them. I can't believe no one else does. DVDempire sort of does, but, really, they don't. Good luck ever finding one when you want one. It's not that they go quickly, it's that they really don't offer it. Big mistake. Xrent also has the wishlist function and puts up new releases sometimes a month ahead of when they'll be coming out. Again, Bush doesn't do this and Sugar doesn't have nearly as good of a selection as Bush or Xrent. However, Xrent does have slow turnaround and more and more of the new release are $4.99, so it's pretty dishonest for them to post here that $5 titles are the only ones that aren't available for a month. That covers a lot of the best stuff and most popular stuff they'll be releasing. Customer service is ok.

Bush does not add titles nearly as quickly and when they do get a title, you basically have to browse 30 pages and look for when it pops up. However they have the best turnaround by far and it's very easy to check account details and they have a new rapid return system that's very good. However, good luck getting things at the high end of your queue. Between Sugar, Bush, Xrent, and GoFlix, they are the worst. With the others, you don't have to pile in titles into your queue, which is basically forcing you to rent titles you don't really want that much. I mean, when they tell you to put 30 titles in there, that's really a lot and usually I don't have that many titles I want to see that I haven't seen already (because they don't include pre-orders) and, the VAST majority of the time, I end up getting the lowest numbers in my queue time after time after time.

I would probably lean towards Bush if they could just add pre-orders to make it easier to keep track of future releases and had more inventory, because that's the only reason there could be for why those popular titles at the top of my queue take forever. It doesn't happen with Sugar or Xrent. Adding a la carte would put them over the top.

Sugar's selection makes everything else seem not worth discussing. They too have great service and turn around and it's very easy to keep track of orders and account info with them. I also get things from the top of my queue, even if it's a popular title, far more often than Bush. FAR, far more often. So they must have more inventory. Unfortunately, they have a lot of what they get, but they don't get a lot. No agreement with DP? And there's a lot more missing that Bush and Xrent have. Also, yet another company letting Xrent have the entire a la carte market. What are these companies thinking?

GoFlix is just horrible. They are the only ones of the group that I wouldn't use again for any reason. When I tried them, it was impossible to know what they were doing, whether titles were out for rent or not, account info was always wrong, they would often get back my dvds and not send anything back out to me and not be able to explain why. The promised to make it up to me and then didn't and never again answered my e-mails.

So, again, how can you beat Xrent's a la carte? You can't.

I do think ALL companies should stop making customers use up a dvd spot for 2 disc sets. There are times where the 2nd disc does have enough content to warrant it, but many times when they don't and it's unfair to punish the customer. 1 release should be 1 release. Most of the 2 disc sets are going to be very popular and people are going to have problems getting it, because so many have it in their queues, so they're likely to continue to be members to get the items that they want. If you punish the customer, by making them wait too long or making them take 2 rental spots for bonus features that may or may not be worth it, heck, if they really want it, they'll go to Xrent and get it a la carte and not wait 2 months or chance getting 1 of the discs with 1 shipment and another disc (disc 2, say) a month later. That totally sucks.

What really surprises me is that porn is such a huge business and no one really has made a GREAT site yet. Xrent is the closest, but no one else even seems to want to offer a la carte or even strive to make a better model. When I've written in suggestions, they say thanks, but you can tell they don't care. And it's shocking that, among all the other things a company could do to offer a great rental service, that no one else has gone out and put an a la carte service to bring in customers.

I like the Bush and Sugar people and turnaround better, but without a la carte and the wishlist to, in particular, put pre-order dvds in, Xrent has to be the best if you judge the companies all around.

1. Xrent-a la carte and wishlist that you can add preorders to makes any problems with their package problems and service problems seem slight.

2. Bush-Second best choice of movies and amazing turn around, but no a la carte and not customer friendly for future releases. Also seem to have not the greatest inventory and you will likely have to wait a long time to get the items at the top of your queue-which are probably new or newer releases.

3. Sugar-Almost as good as Bush, but with the same problems and less selection. However, when they do have it, you don't have to wait as long as with Bush, so they seem to have more copies.

4. GoFlix-As they are running at the moment, I can't see any reason to want to use this service.

5-Adultdvdempire-Won't use them until they actually offer a la carte instead of teasing you with it, when 99% of anything you will want to use a la carte for with them is not offered a la carte.

PS-One last thing. Since Xrent is the only one that does a la carte, I have nothing to compare it to, but if you're paying for a la carte...it's a premium price to the customer. However, if you get an unplayable disc, they make you pay shipping again $2.99 (which is way too much for a single dvd anyway), but then you can only really not lose money on the order if you pay for another item which you would have had to pay shipping for. But what if you don't want anything else? Too bad. You pay. And you have to wait until other copies come back in which could be from 9 in the morning to noon or later. Trying to wait for it to come in and try and do that to line up with a new release to justify the extra money is impossible, because new release show up around 2 or 3 and if you wait until then to order, then replacement dvd will likely be gone; ordered by someone else. So you end up paying the extra money. That's not right. And if other companies were out there to compare it with also charged, I would think the replacement copy would be like 99 cents or something very low, so you don't have to lose much money for a disc that wouldn't play which isn't your fault.

If you are doing a la carte, turnaround isn't an issue. Shipping time still is, but turnaround isn't.

With Bush, they do have a lot of recent titles, but are probably not your best choice if you want stuff hot off the press. I've recently been in a trend of seeking amateur/pro-am titles and 5-7 year old titles with some of my favorite stars*, so availability hasn't been as much of a problem for me, but that is an issue with Bush. When I search stars on IAFD and pull up their earlier stuff, it seems that most of the other companies are more likely to have the title than X-Rent. Try this: think of a favorite star who has been around for 5 years or more. Go to IAFD and pull up all their titles. Now look at all of the earlier stuff and see which companies still have it available.

*Personally, I have become uninterested in all the circus-act gonzo and a preponderance of all the 'Big Ass' videos coming out these days. I like to see physically fit women doing things that seem to be enjoyable.

Were you responding to me?

That wasn't my point. Their turnaround is bad was a comment about their package plans. Using a la carte all the time would really cost a lot of dough. So, if you are with Xrent and use a la carte, you probably have a package plan with them as well and their turnaround, as mentioned by several others is very slow.

I did have them at number 1. Too bad Bush and Sugar don't even try to compete, because I like them both more. At the end of the day, though, getting the dvd you want and quickly, is usually the most important issue for renters.

Especially those who don't just enjoy watching ANY porn, but prefer new releases from many of the bigger gonzo stars.

I've been with Bush since the summer of 2003 and it seems like they aren't quite as good at getting the newest of the new in anymore. Sometimes they have it on (or a day after) the release date but often there is a little wait. I do think that active renters should check in every business day to see what is new and add what they want to their queue - that should speed up your wait time to actually get the movie.

Obviously since I have been with them so long, you can figure that I think they really rock. It's my one stop porn outlet and I always know by my history what titles I've seen. Yes, they keep it all on record - 3 and a half years and counting.

One thing people don't seem to focus on is the amount of time and effort renters have (or don't have). I don't, say, have a list of new releases on my desk that I can refer to and I don't have the time to do the research most of the time as even more new titles get added by studios for release.

So, having an option of looking up, say, by performer, your top 10 girls, Xrent will show you what they have coming out in advance of its release. While going through that process, you will surely find several more titles you might want because one of those girls will be in a film with someone else you kind of like and then you stumble onto that film as well. That helps you build up your queue very fast.

Even assuming Bush adds a title on the same day, you would have to know the name or else you need to browse 30 pages of new releases and check who's in them to see if they interest you. If they don't have that title, then you only get frustrated that it's available somewhere else and it becomes difficult to remain patient.

I want to be with Bush, they have the best turnaround and are the easiest to deal with and if you have a problem they don't stick you with dealing with it. Sugar isn't too shabby either.

I just don't get why they can't make the changes to be in step with Xrent or, for that matter, why no one does.

Bush should add a wishlist and add titles and their expected release days, so you can just go to your wishlist and see if Bush got it in or not and then add it to your queue. That would help make up for the issue of them not getting the higher numbers in your queue out as fast as other companies.

Of course, I still say they should all offer a la carte, as that one service alone makes XRent better than the others in my opinion.

I never really thought about having movies listed before they are released but it's a great idea. I mean, if adult online rental sites are following the Netflix and now Blockbuster Online plan, it's a natural upgrade.

If I was you, I'd use the suggestion box link at BushDVD suggest your ideas. I've nearly always gotten an answer back about my various suggestions.

Oh yes...I actually got so far as to find out they have a maximum of 500 allowed in your queue.

Having them listed before they are released is bliss as is a la carte. Both are currently done at Xrent and it's been like that for a long time. I have suggested it and they don't listen. For some reason, which is part of why this whole thing is so interesting, is that no one is even trying to follow or improve on the Xrent model.

For a combination of a la carte and a wishlist for new releases to either get a la carte or add to your queue when it's released, Xrent has absolutely NO competition. That just seems odd in the world of porn where there is so much money to be made.

I've recently started using X-Rent for ala carte. I prefer to do most of my renting from local stores. I started using X-Rent for the titles that those stores don't carry.
The only thing that I don't like is the time that it takes to get returns back to X-rent and checked in. Because I'm catching up on titles that I've wanted to see, but haven't been available, I'm typically renting 8 discs at a time. So, until my returns get checked back in by X-rent, typically 4-5 days after mailing them back, I can't rent anything else.
I've gotten real spoiled by Blockbusters Total Access plan, where discs are automatically checked in as returned when I bring them into my local store. So, waiting 4-5 days is a bit frustrating. It's a shame that X-Rent completely gave up on their local hub experiment (or maybe it was just a NY hub).
I think that, if they had allowed that local hub to scan in the returns, rather than just forwarding them back to CA, using an expedited delivery method, it would have worked very well for the customers. It's a shame that, rather than making adjustments to fix the problems that they experienced, they decided to scrap, what IMO was, a really good idea.

I have been a member of GOFLIX for almost a year. They have made drasatic improvements to their site over the past few months, including a spot on the site to report DVDs that have been lost in the mail. The times I have contacted them they have always been pleasent and helpful. They do recommend keeping quite a few movies in your queue, but within a few weeks, I got top movies from my queue. I usually get my movies within a couple of days, when they come from their East Coast center, about a week when they come from the west coast, but i live on the east coast, so this makes sense. All in all I have been extremely happy with GOFLIX. I used to be a member of Intelliflix and goflix wins this compition hands down!

My XRentDVD Report.
After a few years with BushDVD (so much porn over those years) I thought I would give the granddaddy XRentDVD a try just to supplement my porno. They have been highly recommended by so many here at ADT - while I've been slightly dismissive of them while supporting Bush. It's only been a couple of weeks but I have a few thoughts.
My likes:
- The "coming soons" in the database that you can add to your wish list.
- And that wishlist.
- The high powered search engine and the ability to include and exclude all kinds of criteria.
- The full size covers - you can set a preference to always show them in the large size.
- Mail times have been great – but hey they are less than 100 miles away. USPS, you do a great job.
I know the post office is working around the clock so people like me can get their porn thru the mail. I had a disc that wouldn’t play - as an afterthought I went to the website late in the afternoon (probably around 5pm) and marked it as unplayable. Lo and behold, they must have got a replacement out that day yet as I got it the day after I reported it. Wow. Speedy! Thumbs up, XRent.
Price? I think it's about $38 a month with tax for 6 movies at a time at Bush and about the same for 5 movies at a time with XRent. I think that is enough to keep me with BushDVD - but I do like seeing the larger cover thumbnails and the full size cover on the detail page at XRent. And I like seeing those upcoming releases and the ability to add them to a wishlist.

As far as I know there isn't. But I recently left Netflix for Blockbuster because of the in-store return. It's great. You give the old DVD to the store, you walk out with a new one, AND they mail you one. So the 3-DVD plan is, in effect, a 6-DVD plan with instant turn-around.
In the long run, I think the only way Netflix can complete with Blockbuster is to discretely offer adult titles.
On a side topic. There is a Fascinations store near me. Are there any other national brick and mortar chains in the adult DVD rental business.

I just wish that there was one of these companies with a local hub in NYC
