Do people really hook up from these things? I have tried a few with little or no success. One thing I don't understand is all these pictures of beautiful women (a hot blonde with a perfect figure)on these sites! OK, if you truly look like that, why the hell do you need this site? I just picture this 68 yr. old old guy with no teeth just screwing around! Any recommendations or experiences would be appreciated. And no I do not have to use it, I am an attractive young guy, but I work a lot which limits my time to go out and hit the singles scene and figure if I can hook up a few times from the net, nothing wrong with that. ;) [Link] |

I think the chances of meeting a nice person, or even Ms./Mr. Right are increasing as the internet becomes more commonplace and peoples lives become busier. However, I would still recomend the old fashioned way of meeting people too. Then again, as I've learned, when you are not looking is most likley to be when the one will show up. [Link] |

| the lone palm New Member LA 3 Posts 12/01 | Posted - Dec 9 2001 : 9:05AM another male friend has found both long-term relationships (8 mos-1 yr+, i think) and many casual flings w/ beautiful women on matchmaker.com. i know a few other friends registered based on his positive experiences. there's also other services i can't remember. in terms of women i know--they're hot, extremely smart, and just too freaking busy w/ work. they've tried other avenues to meet people and this could be just one more option to explore. female friends-of-friends seem to be internet junkies and find it fun. most of them, male and female, are in the tech industry (usually in the bay area) which means/meant long hours--and computer savvy skills, access to quick online connections, etc. in terms of the hotties on there i don't know, about a year ago i used to think that they were looking for rich dot-commers to leech off of. however i tend to be a paranoid person--not that i'm rich, or a dot-commer, or ever done online dating! hope that helps. the people i know are in their mid-to-late 20's. i'd definitely give it a try and, like the others say, keep other avenues open.
