Can anyone explain how online stores determine which states they'll ship to and which they won't. I live in Mississippi and tried to place an order yesterday on adultdvdmarketplace.com, but the site doesn't ship to Mississippi, citing obscenity prosecutions. Frankly, I can't recall ever reading about an obscenity prosecution here, but whatever.
Anyway, Jaded Video, adultdvdnow.com and CD Universe all ship to me with no problems, as do some smaller online stores. Is there anyone from adultdvdmarketplace here that can explain the policy and describe if there are ever exceptions? Thanks.

A simple web search via Google didn't bring back any obscenity results that I could see for Mississippi however Adult DVD Empire and TLA Video also list Mississippi on their do not ship lists.

Often these lists area generated by lawyers. You have to look at sex toy related prosecutions too and not just obscenity. A community's non-acceptance of adult toys and toy/book stores are a good legal barometer for the outcome of a potential obscenity prosecution.
