| dumblonde Senior Member 2352 Posts 7/00 | I thought I'd start a new thread rather than derail the ongoing Astro's Review of Dreamscape because I can't really speak to the technical issues there. I'm not a techie, and when something doesn't work for me, I usually assume that it's my fault or the fault of my equipment, and therefore I'm hesitant to point that out in my review. Both Astro's and PornoBoy's points seem reasonable to me, but there is a larger issue here that I think needs to be discussed. No one is saying that reviews are sacrosanct, or should even be taken that seriously. If you have watched a porn movie, have a rudimentary grasp of the English language and internet access, you too can be a reviewer. As someone who has been 'called out' to the main forum a few times to defend my opinions, I can tell you that it is not a pleasant experience however. I've already donated my time and trouble, for what it's worth, and most often it's just that they don't like you calling their favorite-of-the-month a skank or something, like she's a freakin family member. Sometimes it has more to do with the reviewer than the actual review *cough* but in any case, it sucks ass. Opinions? Topic Moved by - morbidthoughts on Apr 7 2003 [Link] |
