Due to the fact that Fivestar doesn't offer their FedEx-Flatrate to Germany anymore, I would know if there's any US-reseller where I can buy adult DVDs without gettin in trouble with the customs here in germany?

I would put my money on Gamelink and Lasersedge, especially Lasersedge because they're a lot cheaper.

Not a great idea. The last orders I did with Lasersedge had been confiscated by the customs in Frankfurt. Don't know why they ship to Germany anymore?

DVD Freak,

I had the same problem with Lasersedge but so far most orders have arrived safely. Nevertheless I have now tried AdultDVDToday and I am very satisfied with their speed, packaging and prices. I ordered 6 DVDs on 30 JUN 03 and the package arrived on 07 JUL 03. Lasersedge usually takes at least 3 times that long. The packaging is very neutral as they do not ship the boxes and the customs declaration is very good. The prices are the same as with Lasersedge and you can save the shipping cost if you use their coupons.

My all-time favorite store is www.dvddiscount.tv for Redlight District titles. They are a little slow to get the newest releases but they ship from the Netherlands and very quickly. No hassle with customs at all.

I always order from these shops:

www.adultdvdnow.com they have the newest dvd`s and good prices
shipping time is about 5 days (with usps), the customs never confiscicated any package from them, they only ship the DVD and cover, and theres no customs sticker.

www.xonair.com they have all newest DVD`s but are sometimes expensive, i only order dvd`s from them which i don`t get at adultdvdnow.com the shipping is the same as adultdvdnow but slower it needs 7-14 days to arrive (international airmail) but is very cheap.

www.action-dvd.com this shop has many very cheap dvd`s especially from Adam&Eve, Sin City and Jill Kelly i only order the cheap dvd`s from them because they only ship the dvd without any cover. But shipping time is very quick, only about 5 days

www.erodvd.nl at this shop i buy only DVD`s from "Private" because they have the cheapest prices. Shipping time is about 7 days and they ship the dvd in box and with cover.
There you have no problems with customs, because the ship from netherland.

From all shops i never had any problems with customs all packages arrived.
If you have questions feel free to e-mail me (in deutsch)

I just want to know if how will you know if the DVD's were confiscated? the customs will send you slip or what?

My experience is I've ordered from EroDVD.nl the first shipment did'nt arrive and I told the customer service about it because its more than a month. Then they ship my order again then it arrives. Im just wondering about where's the 1st shipment. Is it lost transit or confiscated... Aline also told me that they sent the empty DVD box/case separately since I've requested for it after placing my order, but it did'nt arrive though.

showstopper,

I can not tell you how customs works in Manila but here in Germany you indeed get a letter from them telling you your shipment has been seized because it is illegal to import porn via mail. You as the customer do not get any problems but the DVDs are gone. This is probably the only case in which I wish the German authorities would be less effective (the tax department should work less effective as well, of course ;-))

I'm not sure if they ship to Germany, or what their success rate might be like, but Adult DVD Today ship in a very customs-friendly manner. You might want to email them and ask what their policy on Germany is like, my last order from them (to Australia) was sent very safely.

cheers,

scipio

I'm surprised that Germany is such a pain in the ass when it comes to buying DVD's online. I thought they were pretty liberal. I'm glad I live in Holland, we have no problem with customs only paying tax when ordering from some companies which I now avoid of course now.

porn-sepp,

Thanks for your informations. Think I will try www.adultdvdnow.com and www.action-dvd.com for my next US-orders.

www.erodvd.nl is always my No.1 here in europe ;-)

Ramsey,
Germany has some stupid laws. Everything from the adult market is allowed to buy, but you can't buy it by mail to prevent younger people under the age of 18 to buy adult stuff. That's ok, but why is the material confiscated when it's allowed? Why can't I go to my local customs office, pay my customs fee, they check my age and that's it !

thanks for the infos... It's sounds better to recieve a letter rather than you're waiting for something and did'nt arrives at all.

another question... If you use the courier type shipment (DHL, UPS, or FEDEx; does it guarantees that you wont have trouble regarding customs seizures?

That's weird if you use the courier type shipment; it passes the customs then if you use the airmail type; you have 50/50 chances to recieve the merchandise.

Until now I had not read in the internet that shipments by a courier service had seizured by costums in germany.
But I think you have only a 50/50 chance that a postal shipment with a regular customs declaration will pass customs.
There are some other shops like Action-DVD (UPS), Lasersedge(DHL) and some more that will ship secure by courier service to Germany.

I order from Adult DV-Depot which is based in Canada. They ship in DHL-boxes, at least that's the option I always choose. 14 orders so far, never lost a package, never confiscated by German costums. I only had to pay some taxes on 3 orders. Prices aren't the cheapest, but great service and shipping is insanely cheap. If you order 5 adult titles, shipping is even free.

This is not always the case! In fact, I've lost more than five packages of videos/dvds due to German customs and I only have received one letter from them! In one other package there was a short flyer telling me that the dvd had been seized. In two other cases the dvds just got lost. I don't think it was the mistake of the mailorder.
Well, and just yesterday there was a new version: I received the envelope, opened it - and there was NO DVD, only the delivery note from the mailorder. There was a sticker on that envelope saying: Zollamtlich abgefertigt, HZA Frankfurt am Main-Flughafen, Abfertigungsstelle 7. :-((

This last one is a really big disappointment to me, because I thought that I finally found one save DVD seller at www.adultdvdboxoffice.com. They don't have the very newest releases but they offer (nearly) cheap prices, as all prices include international shipping fee. They ship over Belgium or France. This last, lost one was sent over Belgium.

In case adult DVDs Germany really sucks imho. If you are lucky and find one DVD from Jules Jordan or other goodies you can pay at least 40 - 45 Euro for one.
Ha, and it sucks even more in case of magazines like Score. In America you can buy an abonnement of 13 issues for 60 $. In Germany you only can buy single issues for 17.50 Euro each. (!) Or you can get the censored German ones, of course.

I'm ordering about 2 years now from adultdvdboxoffice.com and never was anything checked by the customs due to their redirecting over france and belgium. They are a little bit expensive with some labels, but I think it's worth it.

I'm a long time subscriber of Score. You can get a subscription of Score for about 44,- GPB that's about 63,- EUR for 13 volumes. They send it from London to Germany and it's the uncensored version.

Hi DVD_Freak!
Cool to find one big boob fan here! :-)
From the reviews of DVDs I have to think that we are really rare at adultdvdtalk.

But I'm pretty sure you have subscribed to the censored British version of Score. The British and American Score had been the same for a long time (with the exception of insertions, which are censored in the UK). But since the year 2000 there is a regularly 32 pages hardcore special in the American version, which is missing in the British one. And till then, the British one isn't that interesting for me anymore. Due to my experience it is really not easy to find the original American Score in Germany. In Essen (big city!) I only know of one shop selling them. I have more than 100 American Score, but quit collecting them lately because there had been seized some mags I ordered from Score. And this shop above - well they just don't know something about customer friendly behavior. I don't want to look every few days if the newest mag is already there, for 17.50 Euro each.
However, one question: Do you really receive ALL issues of Score or were some seized?

Concerning adultdvdboxoffice, I got some DVDs from them without problems, but as I wrote the last one got lost. :-(( I've written them a mail and will see. Well, if you tell me that you have ordered many DVDs without problems this encourages me a bit. ;-) I think they have really fair, if not cheap, prices as the shipping fee is included. (or du you choose an other shipping option?)

Well, probably I'll try out one of the other shops listed in this thread, too.

Yes I'm a boobman to. Yes most guys here at adultdvdtalk are more into gonzo stuff which I like too when it includes big boobs.

I'm gettin the uncensored US-version of Score. It's shipped from their London headquarter cause it's cheaper I think. No custom problems cause England belongs to the EU and these shipping are not checked from them. Also it's legal now for some time to ship XXX-stuff from England.

DVD_Freak,
this makes me speachless! But from which website can I order it? This here looks like the British version, and there is only "12 issues". http://www.double-d-productions.com/scripts/shop.pl

(very crazy thing, if you click the European link you can change the last numbers in the url which changes the prize, too. Don't know what to say about this...)
However I would be glad to pay 57 pounds if I know I get all issues.

Or do you have another source? This would make this weekend cool, although its "a bit" warm outside. :-)

Btw, I also like gonzo very much, even if no big boobs but hot chemistry are included. But boobs make it easier - Ass worship #3 is for that reason my favorite.

@honeysucker

The URL is the right one. Normally you get 13 issues cause there's always a special edition each year. The price is higher, cause the price I told you is for long time subsribers only. I think you should ask them via email if you get the US-version. Normally the US-version is for mail orders and the UK-version is for the newsstands!

If you are into gonzo too check out the new released title 'Black Reign' from Redlight. It's great for boobman, but only if you are into black chicks too.

Now I will enjoy our great sunny wether here in Germany...

OK, now I'll post my experiences I already had with ordering US-Adult-DVD's to Germany:

1. www.excaliburfilms.com
Well, if you live in Germany DO NOT order there! They have very very nice prices and low shipping costs and do accept paypal... But they ship the DVD in the original DVD Box with cover art via US Postal, and the customs declaration says "Prerecorded educational film" *doh*! As long as they continue sending their packages like that, they will never pass German customs - my package also got confiscated. I mailed them, that it has been confiscated and I never heard something from them again!

2. www.newdvdfun.com
This shop is based in Germany (Duisburg). BUT.... At first it's a very strange business they have - with the main company adress in Alicante/Spain. But they send directly from Germany! The shop system isn't very nice, the prices are very expensive and you can only order via "Nachnahme" as far as I can remember. The good thing is, if you mail them, they can get you almost EVERY US DVD you want and you will get it for sure, cause like I said they send from Germany. The bad thing was, that I had to pay 2€ more than the bill said to the postman (and those 2€ was not the fee of German Post). And also the title I ordered was not on stock - so they sent me a completely different DVD without asking before "to reduce the waiting time". Haha, very funny when you have to send it back at your own cost! So, I wouldn't recommend to order there! PS: I waited over 8 weeks till my actual order finally arrived.

3. www.vidshop.at
Well, they don't have a big stock and many DVD's are the Euro Versions (like the Hustler DVD's or the Shiva Editions of Evil Angel). But if you find something at their shop that you want, you can defnitely order there! I used the pre-payment to their bank account as payment option. Was no problem - transfers within the EU don't cost anything anymore, and I didn't even wait a week from the day of sending the money, till my order arrived (money sent on Monday, package arrived on Saturday). And, as they are in the Netherlands, you won't have problems with the customs!

OK, I hope I could help anyone with that ;-)

The Germans have some fucking crazy, contradictory rules.

Prostitution is legal here (the registered girls even pay tax) and hardcore porn is also perfectly legal and freely available to buy over the counter to anyone over the age of 18.

But try ordering porn (or even just a mainstream R-rated movie) from ANYWHERE outside the EU and you run the risk of having it confiscated by the customs. It doesn't matter what online retailer you order from, if it's based outside the EU, there's a good chance that all you'll receive is a letter from the Thought Police telling you that your package has been seized and that the case has been handed to the State Prosecutor.
In the end nothing happens - but you do receive a second letter some weeks later, informing you that although no action will be taken against you personally, your goods are being kept by the State Prosecutor as possible evidence to use against the SELLER at a later date.

The rationale behind this contradictory nonsence is the concept of "Jugendschutz" - the 'protection of young people'. But it's complete bollocks really, given that (a) you can just walk into your local porn-mart and quite legally buy the stuff and (b) it's not that easy for an under 18 to order the stuff online in the first place - certainly not as easy as walking into a video store and making an over-the-counter purchase.

Still, that's the reality and those of us living here have to deal with it and, if possible, find a way round it. So my advice (based on personal first-hand experience) to ANYONE living in The Fatherland would be NOT to order porn from ANY seller sending their goods from OUTSIDE the EU, because it's a lottery as to whether your order will actually reach you, even if you try "tricks" like getting the seller to tick the "gift" box on the green customs slip, enter a low value or write that it's a "Peter Pan" DVD - whatever you do, they can and quite possibly will still intercept it.

Inside the EU is a different matter though, because mail and packages from other EU countries are generally left alone - just make sure that you ask your supplier to ensure that the stuff is packed carefully so that the contents won't be revealed if the outer packaging is damaged in transit.

Hope this is useful to someone.

maniac481,

I've made nearly the same experiences with excaliburfilms.com and newdvdfun.com.

I also have an order from excaliburfilms.com which was confiscated by the customs and after mailing them, that the package was confiscated, I have never heard anything from them.

With newdvdfun.com it's another story. I have trouble with them until today. I have ordered 2 Redlight DVDs and after waiting over 4 weeks I got 3 totally other DVDs (bad German porn crap), but the price was exactly the same as expected. So I bought it per "Nachnahme", because I don't know at that time what was in the package. Then I sent the shit back at my own costs and until today all my orders are ignored and I don't have my money back. So I recommend everyone here in Germany NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM NEWDVDFUN. They SUCK!!!!!

Within Europe a good company is www.orgazmik.com. They have all important US companies and when the DVD is in stock they are fast (2-3 days). Only their prices are a bit too high.

In the USA I order from www.adultdvdnow.com. They are not the cheapest, but they are very fast (2-3 days) and send the DVDs without box in an envelope if you ordered shipping with International Express (UPS). Since I ordered it from them I never had any trouble with the customs.
