Ask them if they are willing to ship to the UK, tell them you are aware that your order might be siezed and would be lost at no cost to them. Generally, the merchants are not happy sending them as they get confiscated and then they get hassle from the UK customer saying he never got his order, wants his money back etc. etc.
Ask them to send you the disc and cover ONLY - you can always buy an empty case at somewhere like HMV for about 75p.
Finally, ask them to send them to you inside a computer magazine and mark the package COMPUTER MAGAZINE. As these often have cover CD's with them the Customs people *might* not have as much interest in the order. Also, pay a little extra to have them shipped at a level above normal air-mail, so sort of faster service but not as expensive as UPS etc. Global Priority Mail from the US postal service is good.
That is the way I hear it is done.
Do not order to many at once, if you get an order confiscated then I would not try and order again for quite some time, say a year - honest! Customs & Excise have greater powers of entry / search to your house than the Police and if you ignore their "do not being more of this stuff in" letters they *will* come knocking on your door. I know people it has happened to.
The best way to get some, if you want quite a few, is to visit somewhere in the States on holiday and bring them back. If you look on teletext you can find sub 100 quid flights to say New York for a weekend. Do some shopping!
There is a site at [url=104325]www.yourchoice.co.uk</A who do sell XXX DVD's and tapes in the UK. They are good as I know 3 people who have used them just fine (DVD's / tapes are sent from within the UK, magazines are sent from Holland) BUT they are very expensive and do not have a large range of DVD's on sale.
