Firstly, this isn't meant to be inflammatory, but it came to mind seeing how films and the media portray porn, as if most of it is connected to mob crime. Also, they seem to believe that most porn girls are drug users. This was especially brought to my attention in a behind the scenes of an actual porn flick, where the cameraman asked Layla Jade, in a casual manner if she was a druggie, as if it was a natural thing to do, at which Layla retorted in an indignant tone that she didn't do that sort of thing. Well, my question is, how much of the organised crime and the girls being druggies thing is fact or myth? Like I said, this is supposed to be a sensible question, not meant to cause clashes. I'm just interested, espesially seeing what I saw on that behind the scenes of that porn flick.

There was a time when I was obsessed with organized crime and the mafia, so I read a plethora of books about specific bosses, hit men, et cetera. One book which was so interesting was "Ice Man," about Richard Kuklinski. He was a killer for the mob for several decades and through those connections became involved in making and distributing porn. Apparently, porn was and is a big money maker for the mob. Other sources say the mob has been forced to go into porn because of crackdowns from law enforcement.
Who knows? It wouldn't surprise me. I just don't believe the mob isn't still operating in some way in this country. They are far too recent to be totally inactive.

Not that I don't believe it, but I wonder what exactly is the motivation for the mob to be involved in porn these days? It's legal! Is there a money laundering aspect to it? To me it makes as much sense as them "running molasses from Canada".*
Of course, if we're talking underage porn, then that, unfortunately, I could see them doing. Some guys in the life wouldn't go near that sort of thing no matter what, but others would.

*Obligatory Godfather quote.
