Kodi is probably the best program for organising and viewing your porn downloads. If you aren't using it yet, you should check it out.
SCREENSHOTS:
https://postimg.org/gallery/1d72nma86/
GUIDE:
1. download Kodi 15.2 http://filehippo.com/download_kodi/64017/
2. download the Unity skin for Kodi (it will make using Kodi a lot easier) https://github.com/Eddage/skin.unity/archive/master.zip
to apply the skin go to Settings>Add-ons>Install from zip, and find the zip file with the skin. (Unity wont work with newer versions of Kodi so make sure you only use 15.2)
3. to get started with adding your porn, click on the generic 'videos" category and click on "files": https://s26.postimg.org/cavz84dnt/generic.png
(if the generic video category isn't there then go to settings>Skin>Home Window>Choose Which Items..>Add>Choose Item for Window>Common>Videos)
Once you click on files, click the "add source" button. https://s26.postimg.org/4xgl95tm1/add_videos.png
Then click browse and locate the folder of the first porn category you want to add eg. "BRAZZERS" "LATINA". (your porn should already be organised into different folders on your computer)
Do this step again for all of your porn folders until they are all registered as sources within Kodi.
4. Now go back to Settings>Skin>Home Window>choose which items... and start adding your categories to the home screen. Delete all the generic categories and add your own.
to link them to the right sources, go to "choose item for menu" https://s26.postimg.org/80lwq9xyh/sourcex.png and then go to Video Library>Sources and then the source.
5. Adding cover art and descriptions will take a while. To do this you need to create a .nfo file for each and every video. This is what i did for my "BLACKED" folder, but i don't do it for all of my videos cause it would take decades. You then right click on the video in kodi, go to movie information and change the cover art to a picture you downloaded.
this probably isnt a perfect guide since its been years since i first set everything up. But you could probably figure things out on your own once you download the Unity skin. good luck!

I've been considering getting a Kodi box for my TV for a little while now. Could I have this kind of set-up on one of those?

No, you can't play local files on a Kodi box, those are used for streaming online content through add-ons. Files you have on your computer can only be played through the desktop version.

^ I thought you could view content you have on an external hard drive? Kodi boxes don't have USB ports?

Is there a nice program, file explorer which can save the directory trees with all information (date, size, file names etc.) of my hard disks, so that I can search for files, compare hdd content, search for the date etc. offline, means without having the harddisks attached to the pc? The idea is to stick a number 1,2,3.. on every hdd, save the directory of it, so I can get an overview over the content, search, compare it without the hdd atached to the pc.
The program must allow to label the hdd content with this number in the program.

I'm a professional developer and I've just written one for myself if enough are interested I'll share it. I'll just need to create an installer for it. It was a hobby project of mine to learn some new coding platforms. I thought I'd write something useful, which I've called HubDrive. Essentially it allows you to tag, categorize, create thumbnails, rate, play on Kodi or PC etc. One thing I find with a large collection is that you can't simply file into folders as you might want to search something like 'blondes'+'skinny' thus i wanted it to return all the scenes matching the category. This searches in less than a second on my system so it's ultra fast too. Again, if people are interest, reply to the thread and I'll put something more detailed together on how it works.

This sounds pretty sweet I have quite a large collection and I would like to be able to sort it this efficiently.
