(I've been a bad boy! ) I'm in the midst of taking inventory &, at the same time, finding a new way to catalog what I have. To get started, I'm sorting by studio then listing titles on index cards. After I get them all listed I'll create a database. Meantime, any suggestions on cataloging & storing would be greatly appreciated. (Please bear in mind, I'm cramped for storage space so I'll want to keep them in orig. boxes). After I'm done with inventory I should have quite a list to put in the Forum for sale. Thus I have my Woodman section, my Clark section, my Rocco section, and my Nacho section. Within these, I tend to go from earliest release to most recent, in order. Since the Tony Ribas movies are sister movies to Nacho's, of course my small Ribas section is next to the larger Nacho one, and the Nacho one follows Rocco, since Nacho mostly got his start in Rocco movies. This is how I categorize things, and not just DVDs, but many people do prefer the simple alphabetical way. [Link] |

Can you guess which ones full? It's the "perhaps I'll watch agains" binder. I keep my Evil Angel boxcovers in my wall rack and the discs in the "keepers" binders, because 1) Don't feel like taking the wall racks down and patching/painting the wall & 2) I keep them separate from the others, well, because, in my opinion, they are far superior to all others. The only problem with home safes is that most of them are horribly expensive. It took me a long time to find a good cheap strong dependable safe, and this is the one I recommend: http://www.greenlee.textron.com/products/mobile_box_2472.html You can actually buy these suckers at Home Depot of all places, and yes they do deliver (30 bucks for delivery). I'm not blind, I realize they look hideous, but what do you expect for less than 300 dollars? The only downside (other than looks) is that these cases are not fire proof. They do however have metal plates that protect the padlocks, so some punk just can't take a pair of bolt cutters to the double locks. Now the case is not very heavy, so if you're worried about crooks simply wheeling it away, just put 20 to 30 bricks in the bottom to weigh it down like an anchor. Obviously you can put more in a Greenlee than just your porn tapes, as they are basically a poor mans gun/camera safe. Like I said, these cases are huge, cheap, and easy to get (if you live near Home Depot), and I highly recommend one. Cyberchicken [Link] |

Not really, I have only 20 mainstream DVDs. That's enough media to buy a small car with True, but why settle for a small car. They first gotta get past me, the owner.
