I don't think I've seen a US porn DVD that has been shot out of doors. Yeah, there's a few scenes in back yards or pool side, but what I'd like is "on location" movies. I'd like to see sex scenes in forests, on beachs, in meadows etc. This is something I think most of us are into in real life, so why no movies? Is there a legal issue here or is it that the production costs are too high?
I've seen plenty of them, several from the U.S. I think they're garbage generally. Lighting is always bad due to sun, cannot see what's going on, especially with the money shot... so that counts me out. If it was like a shady patch of woods, yes I can see an erotic bonus adding to the scene. But porn directors tend to say "I know, let's shoot it on the sunniest day, at high noon, in the middle of a desert." Brilliant.
on the other hand... that cover sells me. Amazing, one picture and I have to see it. I find this issue strange. These girls are clothed, so I must purchase this movie to see them naked. Yet when I watch porn, I am desensitized to nudity. catch22... It's as though my brain doesn't know about it's own desensitization. Otherwise, I would be fine seeing a girl with her clothes on and not feel the need to "know more" lol. Or maybe it's that I must know what those 7 or 8 girls are going to do with that ONE man, lucky bastard.
I've seen a few porn scenes shot outdoors and most weren't that bad but obviously they are tricky to shoot considering the inherent light of the sun. And from what I've seen, flys can be a problem - especially since they like the scent of sex and will inevitably start bothering the preformers. Nothing like a pesky fly landing on exposed genitals to ruin an otherwise great scene. Edited by - Asmodeus on 4/22/2009 2:51:30 PM
Very nice beach scene: Jay Sins "Anal Buffet" if you are into outdoor/beach and anal it is a must see! (on the evilangel.com website you can see a part of this scene in the trailer) Edited by - texas85 on 4/22/2009 5:21:51 PM

Christoph Clarke's work has some superb outdoor scenes. A standout for me is a great scene with Simony Diamond in 'Beautiful Girls #12', but there's a lot else in this, and related series. Christoph Clarke's an amazing director. Doesn't get all the plaudits he deserves.
When you're outdoors the difference in brightness between the shadows and anything sunlit is enormous, far greater than the difference in an indoor scene, and far beyond what a cheap camera can cope with. That dynamic range is the killer. So unless you plan to buy a $$$ Hollywood camera, the cameraman has to know how to never, ever, mix shadows and sunlit places in a frame unless it's OK for the shadow to go to black and the exposure controls are done manually. Jewel De'Nyle's scene with Rocco in Animal Trainer 15 is a good example: when they're in doggy position outdoors you can't see a thing because Jewel is in Rocco's shadow. As I recall they mercifully cut to indoors.

There's an outside scene in Multiples (Mr. Marcus) with Heather Gables and Crystal Ray (as two little red riding hoods and Mr marcus as big bad wolf) that manages to avoid the aforementioned shadow problems, has some funny set-up and interaction and shows a whole afternoon passing in 20 minutes. It's set in a forest on a hill with some trailers visible nearby (about 300-600 feet maybe) that come into view (only) at the end of the scene. Just this scene though, not the whole movie.
i saw one scene in the woods where there were bugs flying into the shot all the time. it was very distracting, made me feel sorry for the performers. they were probably getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, all that naked flesh
