At least he's announcing the updates at all nowadays, until a year or two ago he'd simply update the clips without mentioning it anywhere except each model's forum thread (if even that)...now that was a mess.
But yeah, that "maybe I'll update her clip next month, maybe I'll do it in two years" nonsense he pulls - let's just say I'm surprised he still has more than a handful of continuous subscribers. For me, his site is the ultimate "subscribe once a year and grab everything interesting that's new" target. Waiting around for specific updates or even for steady updates is a fool's errand.
The best part is when he films a girl's "first" of something, but sits on the scene so long that other companies get their scenes out earlier and scoop him. Saw him claiming on ADT a little while ago that many people don't care about that and will happily wait around for his scene instead of watching the stuff that's actually out there (usually with much better production values than his). LOL, sure.
(On second thought, the actual best part are those boilerplate scene descriptions he's added in the last site redesign, which sound like somebody's trying to make fun of Eastern European porn.)

a few words about PW.
Pierre Woodman is a very controversial adult director.
He is one of the great pillars of the European (and not only) Porn as for decades now scouts every corner of the Earth to find and recruit gorgeous models and convince them to do the most extreme hardcore stuff in front of the lens. Many of the world famous stars that decorated the adult screens last years are his discoveries. After serving Private for many years and creating his own company right after, he ended up creating his own site in order to continue to do what he knows best. He is a very busy man and he is renewing his stash almost every day. Some of his content is released relatively fast some take years. I dunno which are his criteria for releasing a scene but it would be interesting to know his thoughts..
The problem with Pierre is that because he wanted to minimize expenses he became one man crew and substituted elaborated studio installations by cheap hotel rooms. Frankly I can't blame him because that was the only way to survive. In combination with his love of raw sex - handheld camera - show everything - style of shooting (in States was initially introduced by Chico Wang of Anabolic, many years ago) he produces scenes which are full of contradictions. You can find scenes with great energy, wonderful photography, excellent positioning and girls who have great time. But on the other hand you can also find scenes which are gross to the point of ridiculous, camera work which makes you dizzy, poor lighting and the girl prays when her torture will finish. The same for his participation on every scene, which sometimes "prepares" the girl for the harder treatment which follow after his friends take charge, sometimes ruins completely the scene because he stays too long.
PS. Personally the thing that annoys me more on his site is not the late update, but the fact that he doesn't have a decent preview for his hardcore casting scenes. I believe that is one of the most stupid thing an adult producer can do who wants to promote his work. On the other hand, I really think he needs help.

^^@ shalalin, even though it's frustrating I wouldn't call it dicking over. Woodman uploads new material every single day and every week has a steaming hot casting or two. It's not like he's not giving us super hot scenes regularly.
You have to keep in mind that he works extremely hard, the amount of work he produces far exceeds the amount of material he should release every week. With that he's earned a 'retirement fund' type of plan but I agree that he should be handling this better especially when he interacts with members. He has a fiery temper and is also bitter about the pirating of his content.[Link] |

I was a Pierre Woodman fan for many years, but due to his release policy I'm not anymore. Pierre gained notoriety for his big budget productions, which had beautiful scenery and gorgeous women performing hardcore anal sex. Since he's left the big budget world of Private and Hustler Video, mostly because of feuding with ownership, he's been on his own with very different content and results.
On his own, he started Woodman Entertainment, which went bankrupt. Since then he's operating his own website, where the numbers have not been good and traffic is down year-over-year. Some of the reasons are because of the cheap, low rent hotel room handy cam shoots with his 50 + year old shank in every scene. The other reason, I believe, is because of his absolutely stupid release schedule. Paying members are waiting years for scenes to be released, with promises going unfilled. My main point with Pierre is to release his content quicker, and grow his membership and market share. He believes withholding content is the only way to defeat piracy. He will also not hire an editor because he's a perfectionist and wants to do the editing himself. I pointed out he's shooting cheap handy cam hotel room scenes, no picture galleries, no bts, what type of expert editing is required ?
He is excellent at convincing women to perform 1st anal scenes with him. He just needs to admit he's not a genius at everything and, on his own, has failed in this business more than once.[Link] |
