I don't mean to derail this thread, but soda can be pretty nasty. Some kinds more than others.
Major concerns:
- Sodium benzoate + ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) can become benzene, a carcinogen.
- Diet sodas contain artificial sweeteners which are likely to be worse for one's health than cane sugar or corn syrup (unless you're diabetic).
- Various sodas contain artificial colorings which aren't so great (Yellow 5, Red 40, etc). Caramel color seems to be fine, though.
I'll drink the odd Barq's or Mt. Dew sometimes. However, I mostly stick with sodas which lack all of the above undesirables.

Interesting. I've heard those types of facts before and try to use those to quit drinking them. I'll go through phases where I say i'm not gonna drink them and don't for a little while then end up drinking them again. I'm starting one of my "i'm not gonna drink cokes and stuff" phase starting earlier today. they're good but they're so not healthy, even if you just look at it from a caloric standpoint. massive amounts of sugar isn't good and they hold no nutritional value.
must...stop....drinking...them.

You don't find girls with miosis (constricted pupils) hot (a side effect of opiates)?
On an unrelated note, just don't condemn all opiates/people who use them for therapeutic purposes.
