I linked from this site over to Five Star DVD... was maybe going to purchase a DVD from there, but wanted to see the back cover of the DVD first, at which point I got asked to register, which is fine... but it kept prompting me for info, all the way through the credit card stuff! I found this strange since I hadn't said "check out" or anything. Am I wrong to be paranoid? Since it's affiliated with this site, I assume it's fine... but I thought that was odd. Oh, and it also mentioned it was just for the age verification. But then why would they need the address and all that as well? And isn't age verification covered already when you click Enter at the disclaimer?

Several sites require that you have an account set up with them, including credit card info, to view back covers. Adult DVD Empire is another site that requires an account. I've never had any problems with Five Star having my credit card number. If you are too nervous X-Rent allows you to see the backs without giving credit card info.

The government has, for some reason, equated having a credit card with being over 18 years old. So, using that logic, some sites are requiring that people have accounts, with corresponding credit card numbers in order to see back covers of DVD's.

I wouldn't be worried about giving 5 Star my credit card number. They've proven themselves to me as being completely honest and a company that I trust.

If you are worried about stolen numbers or fraud, get a card with a very limited credit limit. Even if it gets maxed out, the damage is limited and covered by the fraud provisions.

Also alot of online sites require the billing and shipping addresses to be the same. Five Star is a great site, I order from them quite alot compared to here in Canada. Only Canadian onoine I order from is VideoCanada. I feel safe doing it.
