also privates united colors of ass dvd had a website pop up when you inserted the dvd.. had some previews of the movies. id have prefered if they actually included screenshots.. not just the cover.
as thsoe same movies had nice trailers inside the dvd.

what would be interesting is a bunch of jpegs of the stars from the movie.
wallpaper sizes of course..(64 hex 480 upto 160 hex 1200)
little wav or mp3 files on the dvd you could use...
wouldnt it be cool to have your computer start up to a wav you got off your fav porno?

I used to have a DVD-ROM at work and will be getting one shortly. I don't think I'll ever watch a movie on my computer. I mainly want one so I can quickly preview DVDs that I may want to watch on my player. I also want to be able to take screenshots.

I agree with Evil on the photogallery aspect. That allows the studio to put a copyright on their images, and lets users share something visual from their DVDs (without knowing how to take a screenshot.)

I think there's potential for a DVD-ROM only adult disc - no feature film, just jackoff scenes, short extras like interviews, virtual sex type stuff. This would be for the person who has to masturbate in private (has kids, wife who doesn't like porn, 18-22 yr old who still lives at home, etc.)

Also there's a lot more potential to do something interesting with 'choose your own adventure' type of sex on a PC. An ideal virtual sex disc would not require the user to make choices during the scene. The user should be able to set up a variety of scenes and then watch them. This is more doable on a PC. I consider this the greatest fault of virtual sex discs to date.

At Private we do include a DVD-ROM part in all our titles (except the 1st ones: Tatiana 1 and the 3 Pyramids). We have been improving the PC side of our DVDs and this is one of our main focus for R+D. By now you have in all Private DVDs an updated catalog with 4 pics, technical features and the cover of all our DVDs. You can also buy all the titles online through the DVD-ROM catalog at the Private Shop (shop.private.com) and you can also see a Flash demo of our main websites.

In the very near future (before the end of 2001), extra pics and other PC-only features will be added... Stay tuned.

I guess all the studios should push the ROM part of the DVDs, cause the Connected DVD is the future for great things to happen... And the more people uses this features, the better for all of us.

The only company that has successfully made use of the programming is PRIVATE. Their DVD's are the guide lines by which other should follow. They make PROPER use of the technology.

JPG's is one thing that studios should include. Just drop about 20 FULL SCREEN jpgs on the DVD ROm and you have an added feature. Not screen captures, actual PHOTO's that you can see crystal clear. The advertising potential is endless. If you give customers JPG's with some sort of TEXT on the JPG telling the title and studio, you can then allow them to trade or freely use the JPGs online. You'd be surprised how many people ask "what movie is this JPG from"
