I was wondering if anyone else has ever felt pressured to like certain porn stars. The hard sell can come from either fans of the porn star or the performers themselves.
No, I really don't. For me, I either like someone or I don't. I can maybe see the appeal of a particular star, but if I'm not attracted to them, then it is doubtful that I'll become a fan, no matter how great their performances are. It's a visceral attraction that does it for me. There are times when I've come around though - Sandra Romain and Claire Dames come to mind.

I agree. But, you'll hear people going overboard in their comments about ordinary or below ordinary looking girls. It's enough to make you question your sanity. You're looking at this picture and you're thinking - wow, that girl's got some really disturbing features. And then, someone else will rave about that exact disturbing feature. It's just bizarre.
I suggest that henceforth, all overrated pornstars whose public praise is grossly out of proportion to their actual talent, be referred to as "Jamesons". We could even put it in the Urban Dictionary! e.g. Did you see that Jameson that won Best New Starlet last year? J/K Bree xoxo
I do like this idea. I have my own favorites - likes and dislikes - and don't cave. There are plenty of fan favorites that I don't give a wit about. I just think "not for me."
I get what you're saying, but I just chalk it up to everyone having their own particular tastes. Ordinary or ugly to you is beautiful to someone else. I'm sure plenty of people couldn't give a hoot about lots of the girls I'm crazy for.

I don't think Jenna's public praise is out of proportion. She has a talent to move VHSs and DVDs like no other woman in porn. It all boils down to the talent for moving units. It doesn't matter if a woman achives this with a talent for anal or a talent for G/G or a talent for mainstream appearances.
Yeah I'm constantly perplexed by some of the comments made about certain girls. But i don't think it's restricted to porn. I see a lot of mainstream actresses who are seemingly ordinary to look at but are heralded as beauties in the media.
I second the Jenna observation. The most overrated star ever. She is like a $500,000 pair of high heel shoes. Only a woman can use them , you can never get them dirty and after a little bit you get pissed that you paid that much for the damn thing in the first place, right after they go out of style. There must be a thread out there for this. I wonder if Ricki is putting the pressure on Claire or Kelly Ice T is my hero
