Many are the musicians who were surprised to find out they'd lost their names or their own songs or their identity, or all the above to record companies and music industry conglomerates. I think it was John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival about 25 years ago that couldn't perform his own songs that he'd written, and couldn't use his own real name professionally, while he was fighting with his record company over who owned what.
