I call bullshit on Digital Sin and New Sensations. I purchased She's So Cute for Gigi Rivera and My Little Panties 2 for Lexi Bloom. Both DVDs start with a 2 minute Free Speech Coalition Ad about piracy. You are unable to fast forward through this nor hit the title or menu button on the remote to get past it.
I am empathetic but if you think I pop in a porn DVD to listen to a self righteous two minute lecture on criminal behavior when I just forked out $20 plus tax a piece for these titles these companies are more clueless to their customer base than I ever thought.
Pirates will never see that ad b/c they steal and upload the scenes to tube sites. So these two companies are essentially treating me, the legimate customer, as a thief.
And I'm not sitting through this two minute whine each time I want to watch 20 minutes of their DVDs.
So, fuck you very much, I returned both DVDs to the smut shack for credit. When I was asked, "Why are you returning these." I said, "They are defective. They won't play in my DVD players." No problem.
Any company that forces me to sit through that two minute chastisement each time I watch their product will no longer get one thin dime of my cash. Considering what I spend in legitimate porn in a year, these melon-farmers are really biting the hand that feeds.

You have to watch that before every scene, or just once when you put the DVD in?

It's on the front end of a bunch of discs that I've reviewed. Some companies will allow you to skip past it.

It's even worse that they have Ron Jeremy in the ad. Somehow these stupid companies keep believing porn customers like seeing Ron Jeremy and they like seeing him as often as they possibly can.

Just the one time you put the disk in the player. You are held hostage to this and unable to fast forward or get to the menu.

I'm not opposed to the ad itself and have some sympathy for what they are trying to accomplish, but I'm not gonna want to see it in its entirety every single time I pop in the disk. Esp. b/c the ad contains two of my biggest boxcover poison: Lisa Ann and Ron Jeremy.

It's honestly not a big deal for me, easy to put on mute until the movie starts. A far bigger travesty for me is Hustler putting those needless sex ads which start off their dvds and not just relegating them to the extras where you can ignore them.

But at least you can FF or skip past the Hustler ads with a couple of clicks on the menu or next chapter button. Nothing doing with that other ad. It's not a big deal to me either, I think, oh this slop again, and switch over to TV for a minute. The movies are TOO GOOD to miss out on.

I remember reading similar topic here (or elsewhere?), and someone discovered it was possible to skip the offending content, but it required a unique sequence of button presses on the remote. I'm not sure who was the disc producer, or what was the secret key sequence, but I seem to remember it involved 'stop' and 'menu' ...maybe.

I understand his complaint, forced stuff in the beginning always irritates me. Especially when they choose to lock out the ability to skip it.

I have seen this as well, and I agree with the OP completely. I don't know if I would return the DVD, but It is annoying to have to deal with this every single time you want to watch the DVD. I also think it's a stupid place for it. Throw a PSA up on the net or spread it virally, don't punish the people who did buy the movie.

What's most stupid about these forced ads is that because they are "punishing" the honest customers by forcing them to repeatedly watch this "commercial", they are actually encouraging the customer to do exactly what they are preaching against. If they annoy honest customers enough, they will either lose those customers to other companies or those customers will find the same content through other channels.

Thanks for this, I'm with you. Would like to rant on: Back in the days I simply loved NS/DS, they had the cutest girls taking the strongest and biggest cocks. Many many scenes are unforgetable, like Taylor Rain's. But then, why ever, things got worse quickly. The last High School Girls features weren't good at all. It felt like all the good directors went to the Evil Companies. Mario Rossi's films, in which he somehow gets cute women to hump enormous toys, are all the same, I can't see any development here. It just doesn't feel nasty, like the stuff from Jay Sin for example. It's too clean and done without any ambition. And what's left today? They launch one compilation after the other, many of them contain similar scenes so this is a slap on the hand that feeds em, too. So, if the companies say pirates rip them off and take their money, well, why do I see expensive FEATURE movies and meant to be funny parodies all the time?! I tell you why people rip you off, because your stuff became so cheap, noone wants to pay for this crap anymore!

While it's very annoying, do what I do, pop the dvd in and go get ready to watch it. When you come back after taking a leak, it'll be sitting on the main menu screen.

I totally agree with OP...as far as I'm concerned, the ability to skip these ads is a vital one, both with smut and regular DVD's...kudos for having the stones to go all the way back to the whack shack and demand your money back...

You're absolutely right. That thought of finding those two DVDs I returned b/c of the forced pubic service announcement (not a typo) on a tube site crossed my mind. Except I don't know a whole lot about this new social media environment and was worried I'd fuck it up and download a virus onto my new computer
Plus I might be immoral but I'm not amoral. Piracy is against my self interest b/c it will shake out some of my favorite labels if people can't make a living releasing porn.

Torris, I hate this too.
As some of you know we screen pretty much everything before we decide to sell it and we've actually rejected things because of extraneous, un-skippable crap (usually ads of some variety) at the beginning or scattered throughout compilations.
We've never rejected anything specifically for anti-piracy bit, mostly because if there is a message there, it has either been skippable or, in the cases where it isn't, the product is redeemed with it's content.
I do hate the damned things though, and I think the message is indeed directed at the wrong people. Folks who are uploading full films to tube sites, using file share sites, or creating torrents are technologically savvy enough to get rid of that stuff anyway. In fact, I think most of these are on a different "Title" anyhow. So the only people who will actually see the message are people who have thrown down their hard earned money to buy it (at a premium price if it's a new release).
I also see a bit of absurdity in porn companies going on about issues of morality.
Don't get me wrong, I've met and worked with quite a few talented, ethical, and dedicated people in the porn biz. But for every one that fits the previous description, there are probably five that do not.

I just got my copy of "She's So Cute" in the mail, and had the same issue. I can't put that DVD into the "quick wank" file because everytime I want to just watch a quick couple of minutes I have to sit through that entire thing!!!
I sympathize with what they are saying, but they are hurting themselves this way since, I do purchase my DVDs and I may think long and hard about buying another from Digital Sin/New Sensations because I know that I will have to sit through that each and every time.

Completely agree with this thread. I pay for my porn, so I don't want to be forced to see any disclaimers, promos, sex-chat ads etc! Let me skip straight to the good part.

Copy the VOB files to your computer. Change the file extensions to MPG. Watch the video on your computer.
That's what I do when I get a DVD that has a message or something that I can't skip. It's extra work, but when I want to get right to the action, I already have the video information where I can instantly access it.

I was all set to buy some DVDs recently, and that stuck in my craw so much, that I don't care who is in the cast (even the beloved Tiffany Star) I avoided them

I recently made similar comments in other threads. Now I don't care much anymore, but I wonder if New Sensations is becoming another Vivid. They made many mediocre or just awful videos. Now they're trying to improve their image by posting in forums that they have new directors and better porn now. They may be right, but mistakes like this burn them when they have very little left to burn.

It's people like the OP that make me feel just slightly less crazy-glad to see someone else throws tantrums as well-and is irritated when basically treated like a thief instead of thanked for his patronage or loyalty. As far as I'm concerned-these companies have really nothing unique anyway, they ARE today's leisure time-so not much loss to any of us. Some of the OP's outrage splashed onto me, and I now will also boycott both companies, in short: BOOOOOOOO!

Here's a novel ideal, 5 minutes before you want to watch the dvd, put it in the player and the grab a quick snack. By the tinme yiou are finished you'll be sitting at the main menu. I liken this complaint to the one about JJV editing out 15 minutes of a 4 hour disk down to 3:45 when he converts a release to Blu-ray. The horror, the horror.

one option if the dvd was great apart from the ad, is the rip it to your hard drive and edit out the ads, or any scene you dont want.
i do this to all my fav scenes and have them on my ipod handy for when not home or like me have little privacy living with 3 women including an ex and is much much easier to watch it on ipod with headphones than a tv

Okay, I get that it's about principle, however, it's 2 minutes on the front of the disk. Pop the disk in and come back to it in a few minutes when it's over. It's like the guys that take 3 days off from work and spend $1000 to fight a $50 speeding ticket. Look at the big picture, the guy spent an hour returning the product and typing up the thread over 2 minutes of annoyance that didn't concern him anyway.
